About this property
Prineville Reservoir Lake House with Kayaks, Paddle Boards & Easy Beach Access
Amazing new listing from Superhost with over 500 five star reviews (from competing platform)! Located above the Prineville Reservoir with a 180° view of the lake and mountains. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach, and we provide kayaks, paddle boards, and beach gear for you! Gather around the gas fire pit and enjoy our premium stargazing; this area received the rare International Dark Sky Park designation, bringing visitors from all over the world! Family reunion, friend gathering, or small event; this is your spot! We strive to make this house a place where you can relax, unwind, have fun, and do all of that without too much advance preparation. We have 180° unobstructed view of the lake, and plenty of outdoor entertaining space. Our 800 square foot parking area can accommodate several cars, or a combination of cars, boats, and even RVs. There are 2 boat launches within a couple miles, or launch your boat from the beach! We've stocked the house with outdoor entertainment...kayaks, paddle boards, beach canopy and chairs, beach towels, PFDs, and wagons to haul your stuff the short walk to the beach...and much more! The house is well set up to help you easily feed your group: gas grill, Traeger smoker, toaster oven/air fryer, Kitchenaid mixer, Vitamix blender, rice cooker, Instant Pot, slow cooker, and all the pots, pans, and dishes you'd hope for. Large indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs. Our wrap-around porch and patio are loaded with comfy chairs, tables, a gas fire pit, and the hammock is an excellent napping spot! The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The master bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. The two downstairs bedrooms have queen size beds and share a bathroom between them. All 3 bedrooms have TVs, as does the living room. We've stocked the house with tons of board and card games, as well as jigsaw puzzles, and books for young and old. Bringing a small child? No problem! We have a deluxe Pack n Play for your use, including bassinet setup and diaper changing area. We also have toddler and youth-size PFDs, baby books and toys, safety gates, and even a couple sippy cups. Other things to note: 1) There are two bedrooms downstairs, each with a queen bed, and they share a bathroom. These rooms have blackout curtains. The master suite is upstairs and has an ensuite bathroom. Our chalet-style home has a catwalk upstairs, which is where you'll find a small home gym, and space to use our two comfy adult-size cots, as well as a deluxe Pack n Play with a bassinet setting and changing station. Also, to preserve our view, we've chosen not to cover any of our south-facing windows. The master suite has blackout curtains, but the catwalk is bathed in sunlight at sunrise...but we provide complimentary sleep masks! 2) To aid in cleaning up after being at the beach, we have a shower, toilet, and sink in the basement, right by the driveway. This is the 3rd bathroom and requires exiting the house and heading downstairs. The laundry room is in the same area. 3). The property is fully fenced, partly with 6.5' deer fence, the rest with 4' rolled fencing. 4). We live in wildfire country, and sometimes have to tolerate smoky air. In our experience, it blows out pretty quickly. We recommend guests download the Watch Duty app to stay informed of any local fires, but we'll also let you know if there's anything to be concerned about. Absolutely NO WOOD FIRES during summer months; it's life-threatening and illegal! 5). We live in a wild place, and count on the birds and bats to keep the flying insect population in check. There are 2 bat houses on our property to encourage bats to focus their attention on our little slice of heaven. You'll likely find little bat droppings on the balcony floor (looks like mouse poop, but it's not). We clean it up every day, but it's back in the morning, because the bats are hungry and what goes in must come out! Don't worry, you won't see any bats unless you're outside after dark.
