About this property
Lake House with Private Dock--Sleeps 8
The Lakehouse is on the Ochoco Reservoir 5 miles East of Prineville, At this serene location, you can birdwatch while local eagles, ospreys, and pelicans raise their young. The huge covered deck is the perfect place to read or chill with a cool one while the BBQ grills your dinner. The yard is big enough for volleyball or a mean game of cornhole with the lake in the background. Our bonus room sports a foosball table, air hockey, a large TV with WiFi, a collection of classic DVD's, and a toddler's play area. The garage has a ping-pong table. The name of the game is relaxation and connection.
Play a game of scrabble or enjoy a weekend of hiking on nearby mountain trails and the famous Smith Rocks. Our house is located 1 mile east of the Ochoco State Park and boat ramp or use the four kayaks and push off from the shores of the backyard.
The Lakehouse is the perfect place for paddling, swimming, fishing, hiking, or rockhounding, It's also a great place for a family reunion, company picnic or other gathering. There is ample parking and the view is sensational!

Why they chose this property
We love this location because it's only 40 miles from Bend and 25 minutes from the Bend-Redmond airport which has non-stop service from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver and Seattle on United, Delta, Alaska and American airlines. If you have your own plane, we are just 12 miles from the Prineville airport which has very affordable enclosed hangers for lease. Our Lake House is located just 7 miles east of Prineville so we enjoy the convenience of a town so near, but it feels like we are way out in the country. Being right on the water is so fun for throwing rocks, swimming, fishing, looking for tadpoles, getting out in the row boat or ski boat and watching bald eagles, osprey and white pelicans. We love the huge yard, deck and firepit and enjoy hosting friends because it's so simple to BBQ and play on the lake. We also have a tree house and rope swing for the kids. Our fenced and irrigated garden area produces great fresh produce during the years when we have the time to plant it and our fenced and irrigated orchard produces a small quantity of sweet cherries, apples, peaches and pears.
What makes this property unique
We love having time to just read in the New covered deck, put together a puzzle, or pick up cool rocks. The lake is never crowded even on a holiday weekend. We are on the slow end of the lake and we might see a handful of fishing boats over an entire weekend!! We take the quick boat ride to the fast end of the lake for wakeboarding, water skiing and tubing. Evenings almost always involve a bonfire with s'mores, gazing at the stars and sometimes fireworks. It's so dark out there at night so the stars and moon are especially bright and beautiful.
