Welcome to “Forest Court ENVY”, a newly remodeled home where modern amenities meet historical detail! This home is ideal for mid-sized groups - the perfect spot for families to stay, girlfriend getaways, quilt retreats, and more.

Located in the heart of the metro, you’re just blocks from grocery stores, big-box retailers, and local coffee shops. Need to get around? You’ll have easy access to the interstate, making it a breeze to reach anywhere in the city — including Downtown Des Moines, Valley Junction, the airport, and more — all within 10–15 minutes.

Want to explore on foot? Take a walk to nearby dining and shops on University Avenue. In the car? You’re just:
• 6 minutes to Val Air Ballroom
• 8 minutes to Drake University
• 10 minutes to Downtown Des Moines and Valley Junction
• 15 minutes to the Iowa State Fairgrounds

Your whole group will be comfy in this getaway - with spaces to gather or find solitude. Enjoy socializing in the vaulted family room on the back of the house, or, enjoy solitude in the front of the home on the front porch, or in the “music area” where you can play records, play the piano, or read in a quiet atmosphere all by yourself.

This home sleeps up to 8 people - The main level offers a primary suite with a king bed and closet. There are two more beds on the main level - both queen size. Closets in the bedrooms offer plenty of bedding and towels, hanging space, and shelves to unpack your gear. There’s a ¾ bath on the main level and a half bath for additional convenience. The lower level offers another bedroom with a queen bed and expansive closet, as well as a ¾ bath and a game room/tv area separate from the bedroom with a daybed plus trundle bed.
Fully stocked kitchen with plenty of barware, refrigerator w/ ice maker, serving pieces and even plenty of stoneware and silverware for up to 8 people. Your hosts are just 10 minutes away for any last minute needs. Please text with questions.

Guest access: The whole house, from the main floor spaces to the finished lower level are yours to enjoy! Not to mention the deck off the family room with plenty of seating for your group. Sit out under the stars after dark and simply relax. You’ve stepped back in time in this neighborhood - this home is a hidden gem where neighbors wave and gather on porches to drink coffee in the morning or wine in the evening, where kids still run play outside with one another, and chase lightning bugs.

This beautiful home is ideal for anyone from couples to a group of 8 to enjoy time together, and especially for people who want to feel at home while they are away from home. This neighborhood is a quiet escape in the middle of the city: to preserve the quiet neighborhood feel, city rules prevent use of this property for any events or parties. Please know to be respectful of our neighbors, unauthorized or unapproved guests or loud parties are cause for eviction. No pets are allowed on the property at any time.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Gather all towels and place in the bathrooms. Lay them out or hang them to dry.
Clean out refrigerator of all food items. Take out trash. If checking out on Sat. or Sun. please take the large trash bin out to the street for Monday pick up.
Load dishwasher with dirty dishes and start dishwasher.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Absolutely incredible stay. Stores close by, sites close by and youll even get the occasional deer thatll spend the night in the back yard. Home is WELL stocked, furnished and decorated to make it feel right at home. Perfectly suited 7 of us for an entire weekend with ZERO issues or concerns. Host is absolutely on top of it and knows what having a guest rental is all about. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

My friends and I came into town for a bachelorette party and this was the most perfect stay! This place went above and beyond my expectations and it is so much more than just a place to stay. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to use for anything you might need to cook or bake! We were so impressed, I'm already trying to find another excuse to stay here again!

Very clean place with everything to make you feel at home. While the kitchen was small, it had everything we needed! We enjoyed both the drip and Kuerig coffee makers. Loads of space for 5 of us to spread out. Downstairs bathroom was nice and big with a phone charger and speaker in the mirror. Plenty of nice soft towels. Kudos for having Charmin! Great lighting in the bathrooms for shaving, makeup, etc. Kleenex in every room, nice to having in the winter. We enjoyed the music room and the variety of albums. Comfortable beds. Jana was very responsive to our questions and a great host! We only wish we had warm weather to hang out on the back deck.

We are both from here in Iowa - Kurt is from NE Iowa - the Sac City area. Jana is from just north of Des Moines, a small town - Story City. Both Kurt and Jana have been in the real estate industry for many years. They are well versed in home design, home renovation, etc. This is their first short term rental property and are excited to share it with you!

Why they chose this property

This home sits near Hy-Vee - a nice grocery store in the area. Sam's Club and Wal-Mart are nearby too. Centrally located, Windsor Heights is smack dab in the middle of the Des Moines area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, shopping, Valley Junction is not far away, and this home is close to Drake University and downtown for added convenience.

What makes this property unique

There are four separate bedrooms plus a family room in the basement with a daybed and trundle bed. We can sleep up to 8 people. The living room in the front of the house is perfect for visiting, listening to vinyl records, or playing the piano. There’s a family room in the back of the house with access to the deck. This huge room is great for gathering, family, and friends! Also, with a finished lower level, there is a family room with TV where kids can gather. The brand new beautiful deck off the back of the house offers plenty of seating and a grilling patio for your convenience.
