Lovely Fall Retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a great experience, but with some hiccups. First the good - great location, beautiful clean home, we loved the outdoor porches and the koi pond, and the indoor/outdoor fireplaces. It was secluded but not isolated, and the house was well stocked with essentials and kitchenware. Now, the not so good - the heat was not working for the first 2.5 days of our stay, making the house quite uncomfortable, especially with two kids 3 and under. The microwave did not work, and apparently maintenance knew about this before we arrived but didn't fix it in advance. However, they did acquire a countertop unit for us to use for the rest of the week. One day we came back from a hike and found that the owner's garage was wide open and the door to the interior of the house through this garage was also unlocked and left open, and a security camera had been moved. I called the after hours line to ask what was going on but they never answered. I left a voicemail but no one ever called me back to explain or clarify why someone had clearly been there when we were not there. It was just unsettling to come back to the home wide open and a text message to let us know someone was going to be doing maintenance would have been appreciated, plus at least closing the door and garage.
