About this property

Amazing Nantucket Oasis with HotTub, FireTable, Sauna, Playroom, Close to Beach!

Welcome to Sea Castle! We care about YOU and your vacation and look forward to helping you plan your time on Nantucket!
Overlooking the romantic moors of the south shore of Nantucket Island, ideally located between town and the fishing village of Sconset, you can hear the waves crashing in the distance. Situated on a quiet beach road, just five miles from the bustling Nantucket town, we offer privacy and solace in an intimate seaside neighborhood. Conveniently located minutes from one the most beautiful, pristine and secluded beaches on Nantucket. This house is not a generic rental home, and the owners are constantly remodeling and upgrading to give their guests the best vacation experience possible at this very special island retreat. We believe that hospitality and homes go hand in hand; when you stay at Sea Castle, no minor detail is overlooked.
This 2000 square foot classic shingled beach house offers windows galore that make you feel as if you are outside all year long. Spotlessly clean and impeccably maintained, this lovely home features a classic island "upside down" design, a light and airy living area, hand-painted seascape murals, custom tile work, a tropical fish aquarium, freshly cut hydrangeas from the garden, country pine and leather furniture, antique artifacts, an extensive collection of Nantucket books by local authors, cathedral ceilings with beams, fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom, reclaimed oak flooring, upgraded stainless steel appliances in the kitchen with a huge granite island, two south facing decks, a rich, soothing cranberry master bedroom with an oversized king bed and its own private entrance. There is a safe for your valuables, fun and current beach reads, two irons, great toys, baby equipment (high chair, booster seat, nursery monitor and a pack-n-play), even popsicles in the freezer await you!

There are three air-conditioned bedrooms on the ground floor featuring firm high quality mattresses, Somus Sleep supreme memory foam comfort pillows in both master and guest rooms, plus a full loft on the third floor (accessible by ship's ladder) offering a queen sleeper sofa. Your home away from home!

A few months before your rental, a package with local maps, guidebooks and recommendations will be mailed out to you to help you plan for your vacation. We leave nothing to chance regarding comfort and convenience for our guests, with appointments in every room and special attention to details. We even offer our own private Nantucket nanny, for those evenings out in town! The brand new hot tub off the guest bedroom deck bubbles under the starry Nantucket sky; rinse off in the adjacent enclosed outdoor shower, if desired, or move on to the stone patio with a fire table and Adirondack chairs. outdoor infrared sauna and outdoor bar!

Houseguests enjoy amenities including a luxury welcome gift, a wine and cheese/tapas platter on the afternoon of arrival (due to COVID, prepackaged products only at the present time), linens, terry cloth robes, bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, two beach umbrellas, rain umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, pails, shovels, Saber gas barbeque, Cuisinart, Playstation 2, Wii, four TV's (featuring Comcast digital with 4K and surround sound in living room), fast and convenient WiFi, iphone docking station, a huge video/DVD library, board and card games, and a large fully landscaped fenced-in yard with a fire table, infrared sauna room and hot tub to relax in. Children will be especially delighted with the magical fairy garden!
Far enough from the crowds in Nantucket, yet closer to the supermarket and other services than most other outlying areas on the island. Bike paths will take you either to the picturesque village of Sconset or to the more than 80 miles of Nantucket beaches. The Tom Nevers area of the island features natural foliage, a surrounding ring of conservation land, expansive views and miles of secluded beaches. Upside down houses with sizable yards and spacious decks are scattered throughout this wide expanse, home to a mix of year-round and summer residents. Despite its density, Tom Nevers has a rural atmosphere. You might hear a rooster crow and many bird species enjoy this natural habitat. At the end of Tom Nevers Road, there is a playground on the former Navy base. Tom Nevers and its road along the bluff are close to the beautiful beach and approximately ten minutes from mid-island shopping. The higher elevation and gentle rises offer cooler breezes than the rest of the island.

Tom Nevers/Madequesham beaches are only 1.8 miles from home and offers some of the best surfing and fishing on the island, (without the summer crowds). Other popular beaches can be reached via the shuttle bus that stops just down the street at the intersection of Tom Nevers and Milestone Roads. We are one mile away from two of the best golf courses in the world. The town is an easy twenty minute bike ride or ten minute bus ride away.

Take your four-wheel drive out to secluded Great Point to fish and see the sunrise! Enjoy numerous shops and restaurants, museums, library, art galleries, live theater and entertainment. Try a historic stroll or even a ghost walk at night! At the wharves you can sign up for fishing trips or join available bus, taxi or walking tours of the island.

If you like quiet enjoyment of nature, relax on our upstairs deck overlooking the moors, grill out some fresh fish gazing at the ocean or try star-gazing from our telescope at night! Fogged in? Our house offers so many games and activities for your entire family to enjoy! Have an amazing vacation at Sea Castle.

Charming 2-story Cape, close to quiet beach
This family of 5 loved the house right near the beautiful Polpis bike trail, Claudette's Sandwiches in Siasconset and the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum. We could have been happy and comfortable if we never left the immediate area: (beach, food, entertainment) all are a stone's throw from the Sea Castle located on a quiet street. But the bustle of town was a short bike ride (or drive) away. Immaculate and welcoming we felt right at home. Christine is an amazingly attentive host as she makes sure every little detail is covered. Highly recommend for both families and singles.

Perfect Vacation Rental in Nantucket!!
We loved staying at Sea Castle!! The owners, Christine and Karl, were very welcoming and accommodating from the time we booked until the day we left. Without a doubt, this house exceeded our expectations! From the welcome basket of wine and cheese upon our arrival (and the birthday cake in the fridge,) to the perfect layout of the house and relaxing times in the hot tub, we couldn't have asked for more! We loved sitting out on the deck to eat , read and just relax. But the highlights for us were the hot tub and outdoor shower! We would definitely recommend this rental to others and plan to come back again!

Amazing place! Best we have ever stayed in!
This home is simply beautiful! Every detail is precise and well maintained; it wants for nothing! We have never stayed in a nicer more relaxing place! Our favorite was the hot tub and fire table! Its close to Sconset where we biked down for coffee and a newspaper every morning, as well as Tom Nevers Beach, another five minute bike ride. The owners are island people and even helped us get steamship tickets for our car. We will see you next summer, Christine and Karl!

Great House that Became our Home for the Stay
We have been visiting Nantucket for 10 years now and Sea Castle is one of the best houses we have rented. The house is immaculate and exactly what is represented. The owners are nearby and made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. They understand that the little things count and there are many personal touches that mad the house a home for us. Our kids are a little older now so Tom Nevers beach is a great location to enjoy an almost exclusive beach.

Beautiful house. Great for families!
Sea Castle was a perfect rental for our family of four. Quiet location, nearby secluded beach and playground, a room fully stocked with toys and books for the little ones. Thanks again to Christine for being such a gracious hostess, for all the recommendations and providing treats on our arrival! We hope to return next summer!

What is it like to be in love with where you live? Let us count the ways . . . We have been Nantucket homeowners since 1993. Tired of the 'shuffle' back and forth, we sold our Seneca Castle, New York six bedroom farmhouse, moving here full-time from the Finger Lakes area in September 2007. It was hands down the best thing we ever did! We love Nantucket! Karl owns a property management company on island and Christine owns a private family psychotherapy practice, Nantucket Family Counseling. We love hosting families who come to visit the island and pride ourselves on going the extra mile to make sure their long-awaited vacation is everything they have dreamed of. From fishing advice to helping find babysitters, because we are on-island, we are here to help you. You will not find another rental home that offers the personalized 'B and B' touch quite like ours. We take your vacation seriously and love getting to know families that return year after year. We look forward to meeting you! Sunny Regards!

Why they chose this property

We chose to build in the Tom Nevers/South Shore area because we love the solitude and peace it offers. You can bike or walk to the beach easily. Years before, when we used to rent, we would stay in town. Although this offered convenience because we could walk to the downtown area, we craved sunlight and respite from the traffic and noise summer crowds bring. We can now spend a lovely day at the beach, surfing and whale watching, and continue to enjoy nature well after we return home, as we sit on our upstairs deck and enjoy a cocktail as the sun sets. What could be better than this?

What makes this property unique

The main living area is all windows, and there is nothing quite like that first peek out on Nantucket in the morning, while everyone still sleeps. Its like our piece of heaven, scenic and tranquil. And, of course, everyone's favorite is the hot tub, infrared sauna and fire table! We live on the next property over, but will always respect your privacy. Having an owner close by allows you to enjoy some of Sea Castle's unique features, including a spotlessly clean and organized home, live indoor plants, fish tank. koi pond, hot tub, gift bag and homemade curated cheese and charcuterie platter. We LOVE to spoil our guests!
