We have stayed in about 40 vacation rentals over the past 10 years, so we're experienced. Emanuel was pleasant to work with, the beds were comfortable and clean, and the home is only about a 4-minute drive to Historic downtown. The biggest issue was bathroom cleanliness. We had to clean the bathtub before using it because it was dirty and had an accumulation of hair in the drain. Bathroom drawers contained hair, and the bathroom accessories were dirty enough that we put them away. Bath towels were limited, only one hand towel, no washcloths. The listing photos were more flattering than the actual property. Grass needed cutting front and back. The home is cute but favors appearance over function. The only table was fully staged, so we had to clear it to have a place to set our things and work. One of the glasses contained a glass shard. Mini refrigerators in each bedroom seemed unnecessary; nightstands would have been more useful. The kitchen lacked basics like hand soap, dishwasher detergent, cooking spray, and a drying rack. All coffee cups were cracked or chipped. There was a bug zapper on the kitchen counter that gave us pause. The thermostat was difficult to adjust, and it reset itself repeatedly, particularly overnight. No tissue boxes anywhere, and a worker came to power wash outside Saturday morning during our stay.Overall, this property has potential but needs better cleaning and attention to the basic amenities most travelers expect.
