Les Maisons de Pierre in Périgord offers you Les Maisons d’Antan, rated 5 stars by the Ministry of Tourism, consists of two 18th-century dwellings: La Bergerie and La Mansarde.
They were built from traditional local stone and slate and are certified "Fondation du patrimoine." A local interior designer completely renovated and refurnished them. She emphasized the intimate feel of the space and gave a new touch to the various rooms while respecting the regional spirit, which is evident in the monumental fireplace and the rammed earth floor, among other things. At the same time, a renowned local landscaper designed the gardens.
For the quality of the renovation and decoration, Les Maisons d'Antan has been featured in articles in various specialized magazines, including "Maison de Campagne, Restaurer sa maison...".

As they are composed of two buildings, it is possible to rent only the main house, "La Bergerie," outside the summer season for 4 or 5 people, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Les Maisons d'Antan are located between Lascaux and Sarlat (10 km) in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in France (St. Léon-sur-Vézère, St. Amand-de-Coly, etc.) and near the capital of prehistory, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Gorgeous Property

Apart from an mis communication between the owner and the housekeeper re our arrival - which was quickly sorted out stay was faultless. The property oozes French charm and luxury with all the amenities that you require. The bedroom are spacious and extremely comfortable all with en-suite’s. The pool was lovely with a large shallow area for the young children. Florence the housekeeper was lovely and on hand to answer our questions. The property’s very remote with nothing within walking distance - however many lovely places to visit within a 40 min drive. The historic town of Sarlet only about 15min away is a must to visit and has a large supermarket petrol station shopping restaurants etc. But if you’re looking for peace and relaxation this is most definitely the place.

Quintessential Dordogne

The property was very well equipped with everything we needed. Great bedrooms and bathrooms and excellent kitchen. Pool was very nice and welcome during very hot days. Easy to get to Saint Genies and Montignac and other nearby villages. Would have liked a larger TV in lounge to watch the Olympics, and a satellite connection that worked. Florence, who prepared and greeted us, was delightful.

Un écrin de tranquillité au cœur du Périgord

Charmantes maisons très bien décorées et très bien équipées. L’accueil de Florence était parfait.Elle s’est montrée très disponible à nos sollicitations. Les échanges avec Marie étaient très faciles.La maison est située dans un environnement très calme et à proximité des sites du Sarladais. Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances dans cette maison idéale pour les familles avec enfants et connaissant des rythmes horaires différents 😃

Très jolie maison proche d’un ravissant village périgourdin qui permet un excellent séjour familial. Chambres spacieuses et raffinées,maison très bien équipée, piscine très bien sécurisée. Florence qui nous accueille est une hôtesse attentionnée , efficace et sympathique.

Très bonne location près de Sarlat

Propriété très bien aménagée et très agréable. Nous étions 10 adultes et sa grande surface, son aménagement et son équipement ont été très appréciés. Je jardin est bien entretenu et agréable. Seul bémol la piscine, pourtant chauffée, pourrait être plus chaude. La méteo ayant été un peu capricieuse lors de notre séjour nous n'avons pas pu vraiment en profiter. Une belle location que je recommande sans hésiter.

Endroit idéal correspondant à nos attentes.

Accueil excellent. Logement impeccable, tout confort, chambres magnifiques (toutes avec sdb et WC). Beau complexe de 2 bâtiments plus annexes, piscine et jardin fermé. Beaucoup d'opportunités d'activités et visites dans les environs. Belle localisation en pleine nature et au calme.

Beautiful Home in Great Location

The house was spacious and had everything you would need and more. Very quiet and peaceful and the location was perfect , halfway between Montignac and the prehistoric sites and Sarlat and the Dordogne River. Beautiful week at Madison’s d’Antan

Our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) enjoyed a lovely week at this property. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the property was just as pictured. We visited during the “heat wave of 2019”. The house stayed cooler than expected during 40 degree temperatures (due to the very thick stone walls and roof, no doubt) but we were greatful for the pool. The property manager, Florence, met us at check in to show us around and was available to answer questions during the week. We enjoyed the market in Saint-Genies and explored Sarlat-la-Canéda.

Nous sommes tombés sous le charme du Périgord noir lors de notre voyage de noces et nous avons choisi de nous y installer en créant Les Maisons de Pierre en Périgord.
Proches des très touristiques villes de Sarlat et de Montignac, elles bénéficient d’un emplacement idéal car elles sont situées au coeur du triangle d’or regroupant les Eyzies (l’homme de Cro-Magnon et le musée international de la préhistoire), Montignac (les grottes de Lascaux) et Sarlat (la cité médiévale). Vous pourrez alors choisir entre le calme de la campagne, du village typique de Saint-Geniès avec les « Maison d’Antan» nichées dans un hameau de maisons en pierres et lauzes, et le « Clos Saint James » situé juste à la sortie du village de Domme que vous pourrez rejoindre à pieds en quelques minutes avec tous ses commerces et restaurants, et depuis les terrasses et la piscine vous apprécierez la vue magnifique sur la Bastide et la vallée.
Afin de rendre votre séjour encore plus agréable et confortable, toutes les chambres des Maisons de Pierre sont climatisées, disposent d’une literie haut de gamme, les piscines sont chauffées de mai à septembre et protégées par un volet pour des vacances en toute sécurité.

Nous profitons d'un cadre paisible et authentique, loin de l’agitation urbaine, en prenant notre petit-déjeuner sur la terrasse ensoleillée et en profitant toute la journée d'un environnement calme, tout en étant au plus près des plus beaux sites et des habitants accueillants.
Dés que nous sortons de la maison, nous nous promenons en pleine nature et profitons des innombrables trésors culturels et historiques, des jardins remarquables tels que Marqueyssac et Eyrignac, des activités diverses et variées pour nos enfants, de la grande quantité des produits locaux, le tout accompagné de la gentillesse et de la bienveillance des Périgourdins.
