About this property

Stay & Paddle • River House + Free Kayaks

Escape to this private riverfront home surrounded by forest. Enjoy free kayaks, a peaceful screened-in porch, and total seclusion. Sleeps 4 comfortably with a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, and cozy living space. Perfect for couples or small families looking to relax, paddle, and unplug in nature.

Welcome to your private riverfront getaway — the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Tennessee. Nestled deep in the woods and perched above a peaceful bend in the river, this cozy home is fully surrounded by nature but still just 15 minutes from East Port Marina and Dale Hollow Lake.

Spend your mornings sipping coffee on the screened-in porch, your afternoons paddling in the free kayaks, and your evenings stargazing by the river. Whether you`re looking to fish, float, hike, or just breathe some fresh mountain air, this spot makes it easy to relax and recharge.

The home sleeps 4 comfortably with two queen beds, a fully stocked kitchen, smart TV, Wi-Fi, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. You`ll have total privacy, easy river access, and a front-row seat to wildlife and wooded views.

Looking to explore? You’re a short drive from Big South Fork trails, Pickett State Park, and the scenic Obey River. Boat rentals, fishing guides, and dining options are all nearby at the marina.

If you’re craving quiet mornings, slow days, and a peaceful place to reconnect — this is it.

You’ll have the entire home and property to yourself, including the screened-in porch, yard, river access, and private driveway. The kayaks are available for your use during your stay — no extra fees, just grab a paddle and go. There are no shared spaces, so you’ll have complete privacy to enjoy the river and woods however you’d like.

We give our guests space and privacy, but we’re always just a message or call away if you need anything! Whether it’s help with directions, a restaurant recommendation, or something at the house, we’re happy to assist. You can reach us anytime through the Airbnb app or directly by phone or text.

The driveway is steep. 4WD or AWD is not required but highly recommended, especially in rainy weather or if you’re in a smaller vehicle.

To access the river, guests will walk down a hill — sturdy shoes or water sandals are a good idea.

We have great Wi-Fi, but cell service is limited. You can usually catch one bar if you walk up the hill. We recommend enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phone.

Kayaks are free to use, but a quick waiver must be completed first. Once submitted, we’ll send you the lock code and usage instructions.

It takes two people to safely carry the kayaks down to the water. You’re also welcome to drive them to a public boat launch just one street over for easier access.

Life jackets are legally required to be in your kayak, and anyone 12 or under must wear one at all times while on the water. You are responsible for following all local laws.

If you plan to fish, be sure to bring a valid Tennessee fishing license.

This is a remote property — grocery stores are about 30 minutes away in Jamestown or Livingston, so plan ahead.

Looking to explore the lake? East Port Marina is just 15 minutes away and offers boat rentals, dining, and access to Dale Hollow Lake.

If you`re bringing a boat, please note that the road and driveway to the house are steep with limited turnaround space. For larger boats, we don’t recommend towing all the way to the house.

There’s a primitive public boat launch just one road over, perfect for small fishing boats and jet skis. For anything larger, we can provide parking at one of our other locations above East Port Marina — just give us a heads-up!

Want to make things easy? East Port Marina rents boat slips, so you can drop your boat in the water before arriving and not worry about launching it every day. Just hop in the car, head to the marina, and you’re ready to go. Let us know if you’d like help coordinating!
We recommend taking a screenshot of this page in case you lose service and can’t reload it.

The address at the top of this page will get you almost all the way. Keep following the road even after your GPS says you’ve arrived. When you hit the switchback, stay to the right. You’ll pass a log cabin on the left with kayaks out front, keep going. The road dead-ends at your cabin. All the cabin lights will be on when you arrive.

Cell service is limited. Turn on Wi-Fi calling before you arrive. You can usually catch one bar by walking up the hill.
Kayaks are free to use, but a signed waiver is required before we can send the lock code and instructions. The waiver is quick and easy.
The path to the river is steep and uneven and located by the old A-Frame cabin. It takes two people to safely carry each kayak.
You can also transport the kayaks to the public boat launch one street over for easier access.

Before checkout: Please wash any dishes you’ve used and place them on the drying rack. Take inside trash to outside receptacle. Do not strip beds.
If anything comes up, like excessively soiled towels or sheets, please just let us know. Accidents happen and communication helps us handle it the right way.
Kayak Reminder:
There are kayaks out front. If you plan to use them, the waivers are inside the cabin. Just fill them out and text me a picture, and I’ll send you the code to unlock the kayaks.
If you need anything at all, don’t hesitate to reach out!
