Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
This was NOT the property we were given. Just before our stay the host told us we couldn't stay here due to the previous renters "trashed" it. She offered her other property further north than we wanted. I had poor internet service when I got her messages and link. It took several tries but was able to finally see it and before loosing it again we agreed after several prompts from her for a response. We got to the new place and noticed just about every house had bars on their windows and were run down. One house just around the corner had their whole property fenced with a large metal fence with a sign that says warning guarded by Doberman. We were uncomfortable with what we saw where we enjoy walking daily. We proceeded to go into the house greeted with wet dog, cigarette smoke trying to be covered with Febreeze. I am very sensitive to smells snd get migraines. Cigarette smoke congests me I have allergic reaction to it. We informed the host who told us it was our fault for not checking the listing properly and they hadn't had a dog there in 3 months. She went on to say I was just trying to get a refund. Which we were really looking forwards to checking out Englewood nearby which was the whole point of staying in the original listing. I explained to her the above and she still refused. Needless to say we are out a lot of money for a place we never stayed at. Beware if she offers you the other property if this one is all of a sudden not available.
