So close to beach!!!’

Mermaid House gives you that wonderful feeling of being right on the beach. The condos are built in such a way that you feel complete privacy as you gaze at the ocean. It’s enticing to eat every meal on the screened patio to watch the beach & ocean.

Perfect vacation spot for us!

We were expecting a lot before arriving and we were not disappointed. This place is right on the beach with beautiful views over looking the gulf. Owner was easy to deal with and very forthcoming with any information we needed. The fishing is outstanding right in front of the condo! We definitely hope to return in the future.

Can't get any closer to the beach h!

The condo was perfect... so nice and well decorated. It has a fantastic view of the ocean and is just footsteps away. It's close to tons of great restaurants, and beach is beautiful and fill with shells. Highly recommend! We will be back!!

Sanibel escape

The "Mermaid House" was wonderful! The location is close to grocery store, shops, restaurants and the view is absolutely spectacular! The condo had everything we needed and more. The host, Ed, was great as well and good comminication. When we return to Sanibel, this is where we hope to stay again! The pictures don't do this place justice, it is spectacular! Thanks again for everything!

Amazing views, wonderful vibe

Sanibel is one of our favorite places to visit...especially with a family. This condo complex is amazing - heated pool, layout of buildings, proximity to beach and town amenities, maintenance of property. Ed's rental was perfect for our stay. The views were amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable, the loft setup was an added bonus. All appliances and furniture are in great condition. Ed was readily available for any feedback...including his views on college football. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in paradise.

Perfect relaxing week! Loved the condo, beautiful views and just a short walk out to the beach!

First I must say that Ed was so very helpful and kind, assisting with the “don’t miss” stuff to do and see while in Sanibel. His recommendations did not disappoint! The condo was also really great, layout was perfect for the four of us. I especially like that the kitchen looked out over the dining/living rooms and then through to the balcony and the beach and water views. It sure made hanging out and relaxing so pleasurable. The kitchen had everything and more, washer and dryer a plus. Sanibel is peaceful and a beautiful place to go and not needing one thing on your to-do list. Thank you Ed, your place was perfect!

Beautiful

This place was wonderful. The beach is only about 150-200 ft away. Beautiful views from the condo. The kitchen was perfect. Large washer and dryer. Very nice bath towels. Sleep number bed was excellent. Ed was very kind. We stayed during the beginning of the covid-19 outbreak when things started closing. Ed would check up on us every couple days to see if we needed anything and if we were okay. It was very comforting. Thanks again Ed!

The view of the ocean from the master bedroom and deck was priceless, as well as the 30 second walk to the beach. The loft area was fought over by our kids, ages 12,10 and 10. There was a spacious daybed and desk area in the loft. The master bedroom was perfect with a king size sleep number bed. The second bedroom had two twin beds and was so cute! The family room is smallish but it worked fine! The pool was also just a few steps away and was a nice break from the beach. We had no issues during our stay where we needed Ed’s help, but he was available both over phone and text. Ir was perfect for our family, and I got teary eyed when we left. We can’t wait to return next year!

Great condo!

Just returned from a great stay at Ed's condo. The beach view is stunning. The condo was clean upon arrival and well stocked for our cooking needs. Plenty of towels, extra linen, and blankets. Dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, beach towels, beach chairs/supplies were all provided. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. The complex pool was actually heated! That is a pet peeve of mine, so i was pleasantly surprised. I contacted Ed regarding two minor maintenance issues and his response was courteous and immediate. We would recommend Ed's condo and we would definitely stay again. Thank you Ed!

The Mermaid House

Our stay at The Mermaid House was all we hoped it would be. The views were AMAZING! The beach is literally steps away. The condo had ALL of the necessities for the beach, such as chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach towels, etc. There were cleaning supplies, cooking supplies, toiletries and many other comforts of home. The owner, Ed, was easy to work with even though we had no issues that needed addressed. He had a new washer and dryer delivered while we were there so you can add that to the list of the amenities! We had a great time and our week FLEW by! We definitely recommended renting this condo to anyone that is looking to rent a beautiful place in beautiful Sanibel, FL. **You have to eat at Cheeburger Cheeburger and The Island Cow. We loved them so much we ate at them both twice! Thank you for sharing The Mermaid House with us!

The perfect choice!

We had two other condos booked before finding this one. We are so happy we chose it. The two things that made me choose this one was the view from lanai and that the couches looked comfy. I know the couch part sounds funny but many of the condos have wicker furniture which looks uncomfortable and part of this trip was about relaxing and reading for me. The location was perfect. Right on the beach so you can hear the water which was so soothing. The condo is exactly as described. The two downsides on our trip - which have nothing to do with the condo or owner were 1. the weather wasn't great and 2. our neighbors were a bit noisy. But we made the best of it and when they got loud and had the tv or music turned up it didn't matter once we were in the master bedroom. It was totally quiet in there. I loved opening my eyes in the morning and be looking at the beach and gulf. Sometimes I would wake up before sunrise and go up to the loft and watch the sun rise. Amazing! We loved that we could walk to the beach in 30 seconds. It was just my husband and I so we didn't need much in the way of beach stuff but it was nice to have chairs and a little cooler available. My husband went out early each morning and fished in front of the condo. We found great shells as well. Even though the weather wasn't great we rented kayaks through Finnemores and kayaked in the refuge a couple of times. We also rented Hobie kayaks through Tarpon Bay Explores and fished Tarpon Bay. The bike path goes straight to the condo so you can take off from there and explore the island. We had great meals and went to the Mucky Duck on Captiva Island for our 10 year anniversary dinner and it was wonderful. We were lucky enough to have a sunny afternoon and watched the sunset from the beach. We fell in love with Sanibel and this condo. Ed is great to work with. We are already planning our trip for next year and will definitely be staying here.

Our favorite home away from home.

May 2020 This is the 3rd year we have stayed here. This is also my first review. I have wanted to keep this place a secret so we would always be able to come here when we wanted to. But now, with Covid-19 and less people traveling I wanted to make sure that this place stands out if someone is looking for a place to stay on Sanibel. There are so many places to choose from and this is the best! When I initially did my research a few years ago I had made reservations at two other condos but neither of them felt "just right". I found Ed's condo and the view in the photos just pulled me in. I ended up booking it and my husband and I could not have been happier. Here's the details that I wanted to know when looking for a place to stay: 1. The owner, Ed is phenomenal. He is available for anything and very responsive. 2. The condo is cozy, has mostly everything you need in the kitchen and has ample room. There is a master bedroom that has the BEST views out to the water. There is another bedroom with twin beds and is a good size. There is also a loft area with a day bed and a nice, little desk that you can sit at in the morning, drink coffee and watch the sunrise. There is a ton of storage in dressers and the closets. There are items for the beach such as chairs, umbrellas and things for kids. 3. You can sit on the lanai, hear the waves, smell the water and feel the breeze. It's a wonderful place to relax. 4. The beach is 30 seconds away. Just pop out the door, walk down the path and you're there. 5. The bike path is also close by and you can get anywhere on the island on the bike path. I rented a bike from Finnemores but there are other places as well. 6. The parking spot in the lot is tight so if you have a large SUV or pickup it will be a little frustrating trying to get in and out. If there is someone staying in the condo on the other side of the living room wall you might hear them but not if you're in the bedroom so you're guaranteed a good nights sleep. 7. During this last visit I laid in bed at night and watched lighting way out on the horizon. It was beautiful. In the morning I opened my eyes to the Gulf and the palm tree fronds swaying in the breeze. 8. It's in a good location so you don't have to take Periwinkle when it's a really busy time of year to get places. You can take the other roads. I hope I've convinced you how amazing this condo is. We won't stay anywhere else.

Exceptional Views
