Mermaids Everywhere

The Mermaid House is an awesome place to stay. The communication was quick and always helpful. The music when you enter and leave combined with the Mermaid decorations, salt water pool and wine made for a fun and unique experience

Loved the Mermaid House

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when we first arrived with all the mermaid items in and around the house. But by the end of our stay we loved it. Kimberly was wonderful to work with. She responded promptly to all of our questions, though we didn’t have many because all our needs were anticipated. The house was wonderful, the location was fabulous and can we talk about the wine list! Thank you Kimberly and James for sharing your house with us. The Mermaid House will always be the one we check first for availability when we return to your area!

Fun, Peaceful, Relaxing

We really enjoyed our stay at The Mermaid House, including its unique collection of mermaid art, objects and artifacts. Kimberly was a great hostess who promptly responded to our questions and concerns both before and during our vacation. Thank you! We liked that the house is centrally located, within an easy drive to local shopping, downtown Venice and Englewood. We felt safe walking in the quiet residential neighborhood. We loved that the private pool, large lanai and backyard overlooking the small lake and bird sanctuary created a tranquil and relaxing vacation setting. We also liked the split floorplan, and looked forward to picking our daily bottle of wine from the extensive wine lists. The game room, musical entranceway and colorful lighting added to the fun of The Mermaid House.

The house was amazing. Everything as described. Being from Minnesota, is was wonderful to get up every morning, sit outside with coffee and read. Very peaceful and wonderful to watch the birds and water. Very nice area and close to our family in Venice. Lot's of fun surprises, the music to greet us, amazing rooms with plenty of space and the wine! We loved the outdoor area, spent a lot of time playing cards ,visiting and using the pool. Any questions we had were answered quickly. Mermaid House met all of our needs. Would highly recommend for anyone needing a to stay in Venice- close to stores, the Gulf and perfect for down time!

THE MERMAID HOUSE MOVED STRAIGHT TO #1 on our Florida VRBO Rental List We arrived to so many wonderful surprises 1)Greeted by music at the door 2) An absolutely stunning array of mermaid art, I quit counting at 576 3) New Years Eve hats, whistles and a bottle of Champagne 4) Red and White wine menus to choose a free bottle for each night of your stay 5) Comfortable seating arrangements in front of a State of the Art MEGA size flat screen TV 6) A game room with lots of board games and puzzles 7) Comfortable king size beds 8) A hostess that responds to questions super quick

Great little oasis

This was perfect for us. On a little lagoon/bird sanctuary with great places to watch all the various birds. Pool was great and loved the bay window for the birds. The bonus of having the (local) Venice ferry pass to get over to Casperson was wonderful running every 1/2 hour. Found 8 shark's teeth. Wind chimes were always sounding off. It was the perfect spot for our family. Location was good off Tamiami Trail with access to a stop light for heading North. Would stay here again next time we come down.

The Mermaid house is a wonderful vacation home. Comfortable, spacious and really has everything one would want in a home. The decor and artwork is remarkable and will take a full week to really be able to appreciate it all. The lanai is a place to spend much of your time. It overlooks the clean bubbling pool as well as a very active pond. The birds, ducks, and fish are entertaining and really enhance the outdoor beauty of the home. Great location, close to beaches and downtown Venice with so many great restaurants nearby. So much to do , so much to see or just stay at this fascinating home, you can’t go wrong either way. Kimberly and James are great hosts, couldn’t ask for nicer or more accommodating people. Thank you for a memorable vacation.

Amazing home for a beach/pool acation

The Mermaid house is fantastic. The lanai and pool were serene as you overlook a small lake and bird sanctuary. The property owners supplied every amenity from water to an extensive wine cellar that you can chose from and have $ deducted from your deposit. You get ferry access to quiet beach The location is close to our favorite restaurants including Pops Sharkeys and Dockside Grill. We are already plannning our next stay

Situated in a quiet neighbourhood, overlooking a peaceful pond and bird sanctuary, this lovely home afforded a relaxing enjoyable vacation. The owner was extremely helpful for first time tenants. The House was impeccably clean and well organized as well as being uniquely decorated. We will not hesitate to return to this wonderful home and highly recommend it. My name is Kimberly and I am so happy to be the host of Mermaid House. My partner, James, and I love to travel and meet new people from all over the world. We have created Mermaid House as a place for our family, and yours, to enjoy, relax, have fun and reconnect with loved ones!

Why they chose this property

I am a native New Yorker who came to Venice, Florida on vacation with my family 17 years ago and fell in love! I could not find a better place to spend the rest of my life! When we returned home we put our house on the market and returned to Venice 6 weeks later.

South Venice, is a beautiful, quiet neighborhood just south of Venice Island. You will find an interesting mix of older and newer homes, primarily in the Mediterranean Revival style, nestled in a tropical setting.

We chose this home because we loved the layout and the location. South Venice only has one small lake, and we are one of 9 houses on that lake. We decided on the mermaid theme because I have always loved mermaids, and my partner James loves to collect art. The house is full of beautiful mermaid art from around the world.

Mermaid House is located 5 minutes away from some of the world's best beaches. South Venice is 1 hour from Tampa, 1.5 hours from Disney and 3 hours from Miami.

The guests will also be able to go to the exclusive South Venice Private Beach, accessible by a 5 minute ferry ride with the included pass.
