Depressing house

The house was very dark and depressing. The living area does not have the leather furniture but has stained worn out very uncomfortable furniture. The location is behind the inn and not located on River Road. The views outside are ugly houses across the street, construction debris and the back of the inn. The bedrooms are not user friendly, the one I had, had bad lighting, unable to read in bed. No place to place your phone to charge except on the floor. The bathrooms were nice but one still needs to be finished. I have never seen an updated kitchen without drawers. I do plan to come back but I plan to stay at Niagara on the Lake.

This property was pretty good. It wouldn't take much to upgrade it to the next level but if you're looking for the basics, it's there.

Fantastic

This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.

Amazing breakfast

The house had all the basics but wasn’t anything special. You can’t beat the location and the included made to order breakfast at the adjacent B&B is outstanding.

Nice space for large family

We had a great stay. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, plenty of hot water. This is not a posh five star hotel, some of the fixtures are older and the grounds are not spectacular. Right on the river front, moderate walk to everything.

About the host

Hosted by John Pinter

Host profile image
I am former hotelier and have been involved in Niagara’s tourism and hospitality industry since I was ten years old. Having a history degree has led me to embrace Niagara’s colourful past and I can often be found conversing with guests on topics ranging from local geology to the wild wacky adventures of Niagara’s daredevils. I have traveled extensively in North America and Europe and can speak German, French, English, and Hungarian.

In between various stints in the local hospitality industry, I founded and still operate a software development firm which builds reservation and ticketing engines.

The other passion is the restoration of historical buildings. From our acquisition of Niagara Grandview Manor in 2014, our collective team now manages properties which were built between 1891 and 1925. My company, Niagara Historical Inns & Vacation Rentals, continues to invest heavily in the infrastructure of our historical homes. If you choose to stay with us, your family will be serviced by our central check-in service, on-site management, daily housekeeping, and finally a fabulous cooked to order breakfast courtesy of Chef Joseph Hughes.

I look forward to hosting you at one of our properties.

Yours truly,

John Pinter
