• Well-stocked kitchen
• Comfortable beds and cozy blankets
• 2.5 baths, 2 bedrooms upstairs + spacious lower level w/adult sized bunks, 70"TV, games, yoga, kids nook
• Wraparound deck, BBQ, firepit & S'mores
• EV charger
• Located in closest neighborhood to Olympic Park
THE SPACE
As you enter the cabin, you will be welcomed with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
The main floor is one big room with a living room area with a comfortable sofa and a wood burning stove for those chilly fall and winter nights, a large dining table and an open kitchen with beautiful butcher block countertops. It is stocked with all you need to enjoy cooking—we hate rentals without sufficient kitchen gear so rest assured we’re well stocked for our own family as well as yours:
• High quality knives, pots and pans
• Full variety of spices, cooking oil, tea, coffee and sugar
• Ample supply of kitchen towels
• 8 cup drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, hot water kettle, small rice maker, cheese grater, juice squeeze
• Tablecloth and cloth napkins plus wipeable placemats for kids
One thing to note is NO dishwasher. Welcome to our cabin that was originally built in 1969! Enjoy taking in the views as you wash your dishes.
Adjoining the kitchen is a ½ bath combined with laundry room.
One large deck wraps around the front of the cabin and provides a great place for enjoying the sunsets. We are west facing so in the summer you will have long warm afternoons and evenings. It can get bright so we have a large umbrella so you don’t get too blasted by the rays. The deck has Adirondack chairs for relaxing, an outdoor dining table and a propane BBQ.
The previous owners were amazing woodworkers so you will experience a spiral staircase handcrafted from western red cedar wrapping around a large tree trunk. It gives the feeling of being in a tree house but please note that this is not great for little kids or those who are mobility challenged. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss if you have questions/concerns.
On the top floor there are two bedrooms each with a queen bed. There is one bathroom accessible through the main bedroom with a large walk-in shower. In the main bedroom, open your eyes to a gorgeous view every morning. We offer sleeping masks if needed and apologies to those who don’t like to be awakened with the early PNW sunrise. The back bedroom has a smaller view but the added bonus of dark shades for those who want to sleep in.
Downstairs is one great room divided into two—one side with a large comfy sofa, arm chair and 70” TV, games, books, yoga mats —and the other with custom perpendicular bunk beds spaced so that sleepers on both sides can sit up without knocking their heads and can easily exit. There is also a small full bath with tub/shower.
Heading out the sliding glass door downstairs there is a small covered sitting area, hammock and fire pit. When there is not a fire ban (typically ban is mid July-September), campfires and s’mores here are the best!
Our cabin is lakefront and has a long and creative dock built onto a tree trunk which is generally accessible during the SUMMER from Memorial Day until Labor Day when the lake level is up. A steep dirt path leads down to the shoreline. Due to strict regulations in the area we have been unable to make basic improvements to the dock and landing (though we are in process on the arduous permitting) so this area is open to use AT YOUR OWN RISK. It is not dangerous per se, but getting on to plank to the dock can be an adventure depending on the water level. We do our best to keep it tethered in a way that makes it easily accessible, but it has been known to knock off on a windy night. We suggest you bring water shoes and an open adventurous spirit.
When you do make it to the dock, you are for a treat-- it is long, boasts fantastical views and perfect for spending summer days playing and relaxing. During the summer we have 2 SUPS, a canoe, a pedal boat, a kids kayak and a 16 ft touring kayak. An array of rafts and life vests are also available. If you want to use the boat launch just across the cove, please let us know in advance so we can arrange a pass for you (non-motorized is free, motorized $55/day in 2025).
Also note that we installed a Level 2 charger for guests who drive an EV and need a charge. An adapter is available for non-Tesla cars.
------------
Awe-inspiring views year-round, direct access to the lake during the late spring and summer, comfy beds and bedding, well stocked kitchen and space for everyone—what more could you ask for?! If you have any questions for us about the space, don’t hesitate to ask. We are in Division 3 which is the very northern end of the lake and 20 minutes from the town of Hoodsport. We are the closest Cushman development to the Staircase Entrance of Olympic National Park and just a few minutes’ drive to trailheads for Mt.Ellinor, Mt.Rose and Big Creek.
Guest access
The entire property including cabin, outdoor area and dock are for your exclusive use.
Other things to note
Please note: we do not allow pets though we do love them! We have a wonderful English Labrador who loves to mark wherever he smells another dog, so we have intended to keep the cabin free of other dog smells. When he is visiting the cabin, he is not allowed on the top floor to keep those bedrooms completely fresh for those who are sensitive and we do our best to keep his hair to minimum.
*We’re always happy to try to accommodate early check-ins or late checkouts if it’s possible. Just ask!
*Please DO NOT use the dock or plank when the water is low (mid September-May) and the dock is beached. It can be VERY SLIPPERY and dangerous.
*There is no cellular service in the area, so if you want or need to be connected, be sure to connect to the wi-fi in the house and enable internet calling.
*Please no shoes in the cabin. There is A LOT of sap and it gets stuck on the floor and is a mess and very difficult to clean so for everyone's sake, please leave your shoes at the front door (we have shoe mats inside by front door).
* We are a strict no smoking property. Please no cigarettes inside or outside the property. We do enforce this rule and if there is evidence of smoking, you will be charged minimum of $500 additional for cleaning.
*During the fall and winter (and sometimes even early spring) there might be snow. Please be sure to check the forecast and plan accordingly. We recommend you have an AWD and carry snow chains.
