About this property
Sky Zen - Ridgeline Retreat
This peaceful, design-forward home features floor-to-ceiling windows, original art, a gourmet kitchen, saltwater hot tub, and a screened yoga hut. Relax in style, soak in sunsets, and enjoy total privacy—just a short drive from skiing, hiking, and I-89.
Modern Tranquility with Unmatched Views
Framed by uninterrupted ridgeline views and surrounded by peaceful forest on a private 30 acres, contemporary architecture meets stillness, design meets nature, and the sum of every detail soothes.
From the moment you turn onto the quarter-mile driveway the quiet sets in. As the home rises into sight, the intentional connection to the surrounding environment is apparent. The bold, modern design blends into the landscape with clean lines and expansive windows that hold a mirror to the environment and blend the home into it.
A View to Breathe In
The panoramic vista is breathtaking. Nearly every room — and especially the expansive west-facing deck — you’ll offers sweeping views of the Green Mountains including Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and 40 miles of untouched ridgeline.
Whether you’re soaking in the saltwater hot tub, enjoying coffee on the deck, or lying in bed gazing out oversized windows, the horizon is your constant companion.
Modern Architecture, Thoughtful Interior Design
Sky Zen is open yet intimate, elevated yet grounded, and modern in a sea of old: Instead of the usual fake snowshoes or old skis nailed to the wall, original artwork punctuates the clean mid-century aesthetic that flows throughout the home: A gallery with the the comforts of home.
The gourmet kitchen, fully equipped with high-end appliances, sharp knives, and a variety of glassware for just about any drink, anchors the open floor plan. The dining table offers a cozy space to gather, while the living area —with its wood-burning stove and plush seating—was made for slow mornings and fireside evenings.
The Audiophile-quality sound system fills the home with music, making even ordinary moments feel cinematic. A separate media lounge provides room to spread out and relax with a movie or book.
Space to Recharge
The bedrooms are havens of calm. Each one is designed with intention: peaceful colors, luxurious linens, and mountain views that greet you each morning. The primary suite includes a spa-like bathroom with a soaking tub that overlooks the landscape, perfect after a long day of skiing, hiking, or doing absolutely nothing.
Additional features like central A/C and powered blinds ensure complete comfort, no matter the season.
Notes:
Enter through the front door to the right of the garage. The code for the eLock will be emailed to you the day before or morning of check-in, or within 30 minutes for a same-day booking.
If you need help during your stay or have any questions or concerns, contact your local host, Kate Alexander. You will receive contact info after booking.
The driveway has one steep stretch that can be challenging in winter if you aren’t properly prepared. AWD or 4WD vehicles and SNOW tires are necessary for winter visits. During mud season snow or all weather tires with AWD or 4WD are strongly recommended.
That said, the driveway is well-maintained with a regular local plowing service in winter, and on snow days our plow service is generally able to get you to the mountain by the time it opens (though depending on conditions we can’t guarantee first chair).
For first-time arrivals, daylight check-ins are suggested for ease of navigation.
Great views often come with challenging driveways. The approach to Sky Zen is spectacular - but please take seriously our ask that you have proper vehicles with snow tires.
