The Lazy Loon is a family friendly cabin only an hour from the Twin Cities! This 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home is perfect for creating memories on beautiful Elk Lake. A hot spot for walleye fishing, the shallow water is great for swimming, non-motorized and motorized boating. Private dock with public launch available. Take in the gorgeous lakeside sunsets with a camp fire or grilling on the back patio. Inside, enjoy a gourmet kitchen, fireplace, record player, luxury linens and more.
The Lazy Loon was completely renovated in 2024. The gourmet open concept kitchen is a stunner, with beverage fridge, dishwasher and breakfast bar. The Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator has a built in beverage center with auto refill pitcher and two types of ice (hello perfect margarita). Relax next to the cozy gas fireplace after a day on the water with music on the record player, card games or a movie on the 55” 4K UHD TV.
Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with full bed lower, twin upper and twin trundle bed. All bedrooms have sound machine night lights and premium linens. The cabin has one full bathroom and one powder bathroom, with fluffy towels and luxury details to make your stay comfortable. Play a little too hard outside? There is a full size washer and dryer with detergent tucked away from the bedrooms.
You can’t beat the ease and proximity of this cabin to the lake. Easy, flat entry to your own swimming beach and dock. Feel free to use the two standup paddle boards complete with detachable seats or Aqua Lily Pad. Adult life jackets are provided. The lakeside sunsets are gorgeous and the reason we fell in love with this property!
Outdoor fire ring and grill available for use, just bring your own firewood! Please follow all safety and environmental guidelines.
Speaking of grilling, our favorite butcher McDonald’s Meats, is only 5 miles away. They are a must-visit with local meat, amazing jerky, easy dinners, snacks and 24 hour meat vending machine!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please place any COLORED beach towels, kitchen towels and makeup cloths in the wash and start the cycle. No need to strip the beds.
Place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start the wash cycle. There are dishwasher pods underneath the sink.
Remove or throw out all perishable foods.
Put all water toys back in shed if used, lock shed and place shed keys back on loon hook by front door.
Close and lock all windows, lock back sliding door and front door when you leave.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
