Wonderful house. Plenty of different places to gather: on cooler days, meals on sun porch; spacious dining room; good size room for discussions and TV watching (if so inclined). Just overall a good place ro gather with friends.

A fun relaxing weekend spot in the finger lakes. The house was clean and well stocked. The hosts were very responsive and so helpful. The screened in patio was a great morning coffee spot to watch wildlife. A great place to relax and recharge.

The Finger lakes Retreat is a great spot for families. The house is pretty functionally furnished, the kitchen was well supplied. We were there for a wedding and the venue was right down the street so very convenient. Lake access is a little tricky since you are not allowed to swim at the boat ramp.

Clean and Peaceful

My husband and I stayed with another couple at Jo and Tom's place in Himrod. We were all very impressed in how clean the house was, how easy it was to access, and how responsive the owners are. Upon our arrival, we notified Tom that although the freezer was freezing, the fridge wasn't sufficiently cold. Tom immediately purchased and delivered a new refrigerator. We found the beds to be very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped (with a dual drip/pod coffee pot). We loved the location as well - close to a public lake access, many wineries, a fantastic creamery (Shtayburne Farms - their cheese and ice cream flights are super fun!!), and Watkins Glen.If you love antique furniture, you will especially love the decor. Our friend, who has some mobility issues, really appreciated the grab bars in the bathroom and the gradual steps into the house. It is odd, but Google Maps does not get you to the house directly. From Severne, turn onto Strait Lane and follow the lane to the end. Apple Maps is correct.

Trip to Himrod

We were so happy with the house and location. Our trip to the finger lakes had several towns we were going to see and the location of the property was ideal. The owners were a delight to deal with and even left cookies and peach bread for us. The house was clean, had all the essentials and was right near Seneca Lake. Lots of wildlife too.

Great home

We totally enjoyed our stay at this home. It was very clean and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the cookies that were left for us by the hostess. It is situated in the heart of the Finger Lakes. We spent every morning in the sun porch enjoying our tea and the view. A deer even visited us one morning. If you are looking for the ideal place, this is it.

We had an awesome time!! Location of home was perfect for visiting wineries, enjoying views. Property owners were great with information of some spots to see, plus communication was super. Answered questions and made recommendations. Would definitely rent from them again!! House was spotless, beds we’re comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the 3 season porch. Definitely 5 Stars!!

This home was very clean upon our arrival. My guests and I were awed by this house from the time we pulled in to the time we left. Deck the Halls

We arrived on Friday for the Deck the Halls event. It is always a great time and we are so happy it is back! Booking was super easy as was the communication with Jo. Check in was seamless, the property was exactly as described and super clean. She even messaged me to let me know we could arrive a bit early, which was great! The location is perfect as 2 of my favorite wineries are Miles and Glenora, so we were in close proximity. We also were greeted with the iconic grape pie! I cannot say enough great things about this property and hosts. We will definitely be back!
