Escape to this inviting studio apartment, attached to our garage and across the lane from our house, on 23 acres of beautifully restored prairie. The space includes a full kitchen, bath, free WiFi, laundry, and a 50” smart TV with local channels and Netflix. you can also access your own programming through the smart TV. A queen bed and queen futon comfortably sleep up to four guests.

Relax with a peaceful country walk through a restored prairie, listen and watch over 100 species of birds through out the year, and frogs by the pond, or enjoy stargazing without city lights. Deer are frequent visitors, adding to the natural charm.

Conveniently located:

20 minutes to Jacksonville for dining and shopping

50 minutes to Springfield for Abraham Lincoln sites and the State Fairgrounds

2 hours to St. Louis

Quite and restfull

The prairie is just waking from its winter rest. The paths through the prairie are wonderful and very inviting for a walk any time of day. The owners are very gracious and helpful.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

This property was the perfect weekend getaway I was needing. My dog and I enjoyed exploring the trails throughout the property and the cozy apartment was perfect to relax and unwind at the end of the day!

The land is beautiful, with multiple trails to walk on. The house is so cute, was the perfect size for us. We had everything we needed on sight. The owners are really friendly, overall a very enjoyable trip.

Beautiful and welcoming!

I was not expecting this property to be at the back of the owners garage, but it was absolutely perfect. It was secluded enough that we had alone time. There are trails all around the property (watch for ticks), and an apiary. Its out in the country and quiet. Make sure to try the local ice cream place.

First time at a Verbo

It was so peaceful and quiet. It was nice have hhe friendly cat i believe name is Nibs welcome us and even help us unpack. Wish we could have enjoyed it more as we were not there much as to only sleep. The only thing i would say is it was real hot sleeping that night and wasnt sure how to keep the fans on without the.light being left on in living room. Otherwise very nice thank you and God bless.

Right in the center of nature’s beauty

I only needed a place to sleep, and I had my dog with me. It was perfect.There were mowed paths through the surrounding fields for walking. The birds sang and chattered to each other. There were honeybee hives on the property and wildflowers. It was peaceful. Inside on the kitchen table was a plate of choc chip cookies…delicious! The kitchen had the normal plates and cups, cookware, utensils, but also plastic bags, plastic wrap, canned food items, condiments, spices. Coffee and tea bar- also local honey and maple syrup available for purchase. Books to read, TV…cool pictures on the wall… If you needed something, it was probably there. I wish I could have stayed longer. I would definitely make the trip back.

R&R with the Dogs

Our first vacation taking our dogs with us was the perfect mix of R&R, exploration, and nature. No breed, or size discrimination, which is very much appreciated. We were greeted by three cats (one of whom just let himself in as soon as we opened the door), the room was pleasantly cool, and well organized for the small space that it is in. There's plenty of plates, silverware, cookware, bowls, and spices to make almost anything you'd want - just bring your food with you. If you forget to do that, there are stores 20+ minutes away. The trails are full of plants and flowers, with active bee farming interspersed. And despite it being in the 80s and humid, we all enjoyed the walks.
