About this property

Charming designer cottage, located in historic, coastal Duxbury.

Hummingbird cottage is a charming cottage built for comfort. The ground floor has an open plan room with vaulted ceiling and beautiful venetian glass chandelier. The dining room area has a table that will comfortably seat six adults. The living area has a tv and comfortable slipcovered couch and two arm chairs. There are four large windows to maximize the natural light and provide wonderful cross breezes in the summer. The back door leads out to a patio with Adirondack chairs and table for Al Fresco dining and relaxing. There is an outdoor shower behind the house for showers after your days at the beach. Upstairs there is a loft style bedroom, quaintly tucked into the eaves, that has two twin beds that can also be pushed together to make a king size bed. The kitchen has a small fridge, microwave, convection stove top, toaster and coffee maker and Nespresso machine so you can enjoy light meals at home. A grill is also available to use. The marble walk in shower and marble floor bathroom is located next to the master bedroom which has a queen size bed.
Situated in Duxbury, a quiet town at the beginning of Cape Cod, close to everything but off the beaten track. This historic town has so much to offer, from oysters and lobsters to fresh baked french pastries. The six mile beach is just a few miles away from the cottage and here you can spend a day relaxing on the outer beach, home to endangered plovers and in the winter months, snowy owls.Just 35 miles from Boston you can see all the sites of the city easily in a day trip. There is a commuter train that takes you right to the city from the next town, Kingston. The ski resorts are just two hours drive and many can be reached in a day trip. Vermont and New Hampshire are also within a short drive and Rhode island too. Nantucket, Marthas Vineyard and the entire Cape cod can be reached easily for many fun day trips. The cottage is a perfect point from which to explore or to relax and enjoy all the local activities. The historic town of Plymouth, where the pilgrims landed is just a few miles away and a trip to Plymouth Patuxet Museum or a whale watch off Provincetown are fun to do. We will do anything we can to make your stay wonderful and great. There is so much to see that one trip just wont be enough!

We had an amazing stay. Ashley was very and welcoming and made us feel at home! Generous with check in and out and conscious to support us. The home is clean, nice location and easy access. We went into Boston, out to the Cape and many other sites. Very relaxing and what we hoped for.

Cute Cottage!!

This little cottage is adorable, so clean and comfortable. The upstairs loft does have steep stairs so easier to climb if young and spry! Ashley the owner was very welcoming and we enjoyed the area and the restaurants !

Lovely Cottage in Duxbury, MA

Our daughter and her family live in Duxbury. We are so happy to have found “Hummingbird Cottage”! It is charming and right near our daughter’s house. The cottage is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Very clean and inviting. Check in was super easy. Ashley, the owner, was very welcoming and she was in very good communication with us. We will be back on our next visit to Duxbury! Thank you, Ashley!

Clean and Relaxing

This is a cute place-- small, but efficiently and beautifully designed (great for two-- or a couple w/ 2 kids in the loft. There is traffic on one adjacent street, but it is not seen (due to the shrubbery) and is only heard every now and then. The place is clean and relaxing. A great place to hang out-- or to travel to nearby historic locations. Thanks for the nice stay!

Very nice rental

We chose this rental due to its central location between my two nieces' homes. It served as a very comfortable base for us in between visits. It was super clean and well organized. The layout was great and the kitchen well-planned to maximize space. It was quiet and peaceful and we had a wonderful time.

Cozy cottage

My husband and I were in Duxbury for a few days over Thanksgiving. We chose this cottage as it was close to family and the village. The minute we opened the door we felt at home. So warm and cozy! The owner Ashley, had left us a bottle of wine in the fridge and delicious pastries for breakfast. Truly a great stay and will definitely stay again when visiting the area.

Beautiful and Cozy Cottage!

This was our second stay at this beautiful and cozy cottage. The cottage is clean and well stocked with all of the comforts of home. The owners left us a bottle of wine and fresh pastries from a favorite local bakery, French Memories. When I visit my brother in Duxbury this little storybook cottage is always my first choice. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. We will be back!

Perfect Cottage

Hummingbird Cottage was absolutely perfect! This quaint cottage had all we needed and more. Our daughter loved the sleeping loft, the ping pong table and the swing! Ashley, Jon and their children were wonderful hosts. Will definitely be coming back (couldn't keep us away from that cute Ting if you tried). Thank you for a wonderful week.

EXCELLENT - my favorite VRBO so far!

This property was everything as advertised- and previous reviews. Adorable cottage beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean with very comfortable bed. Nice big yard with lots of privacy. Charming Gem

Hummingbird cottage was a cozy, yet mondern and sophisticated. The interior design was impeccable. It was very convenient to have the grill outside, and it was nice and new and clean. The beds were clean and comfortable (in the dual AC units were a godsend on 95° day) And the surprise ping-pong table in the basement kepts us entertained for hours. Great rental. Would repeat.

Quaint Perfectly Appointed Cottage

Hummingbird cottage was just perfect. For a small space, it had everything that was needed and a spacious lawn area completed with tree swing, dining table with umbrella and lounging couch. The kitchen had multiple coffee makers and all the gadgets necessary to cook plus a gas grill outside. Laundry, beach supplies. It was so well appointed and communication with the owner was seamless, timely and friendly. We will be back!

Charming Personified

The Hummingbird Cottage is adorable, with "yummy" colors, lovely furnishings, clever accents, and a light and airy feel. Most importantly, it is comfortable from the overstuffed furniture and bed to the modern bath. Ashley is a most gracious host, who made us feel welcome and was ready to meet all our needs. We also loved the convenient location and private, attractive grounds of the cottage. We'll be back.

This is our dream cottage that we designed after years of renting homes all over the world. We designed a clean, comfortable space with a private patio and garden with all the modern conveniences.

This home is bright, decorated with beautiful furniture and decorated tastefully. The grounds have beautiful plantings with many birds and rabbits, chipmunks and occasionally turkeys and deer can be seen.
