Minutes to Niagara Falls State Park

Located in a lovely area of Niagara Falls, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is located only 3.3 miles from Niagara Falls State Park.

The master bedroom with attached bath is located on the first floor and has a king bed. The other two bedrooms are located on the second floor. One of the rooms has a queen bed with a small sitting room attached that has a twin bed for an extra guest. The other bedroom has a double bed. The other full bathroom is on the second floor.

On the first floor in addition to the master bedroom, is the kitchen, living room and dining room, and back hallway that leads to a screened in porch and the back yard.

The house, built in 1920, is in the Deveaux area of Niagara Falls, a beautiful residential neighborhood, situated near Niagara University. The house is a 10-minute walk to the Whirlpool and Devil’s Hole State Parks and a 10 min. drive or 20 min. bike ride along the Gorge to the Niagara Falls State Park. Lewiston is also a short drive up the parkway and has many cute shops and nice restaurants.

The house is most easily accessed by car but the NFTA buses do run along Lewiston Road which is on the corner and goes to either Lewiston or to Niagara Falls.

The house has wi-fi throughout. There is a SmartTV and DVD player in the master bedroom, but there is no cable (we do have an interior antenna for broadcast channels). There is a driveway for you to use to park your vehicle. Pets will be considered.

The home was comfortable, clean, and just what we needed for our trip. Master bedroom is downstairs with two other bedrooms upstairs (three beds upstairs). We had everything we needed. 10-15 minute drive to the Falls. A couple minutes drive to Underground Railroad Heritage Center, Whirlpool Park, and another state park. Host was responsive to communications. Check-in and check-out were very easy.

The crowds and cookie-cutter hotels of the Falls area are not our style. THIS house is. Full of the comfort and privacy of a family house that anyone who has lived in a pre-WW2 house in upstate NY will immediately feel comfortable in. It is a special bit of nostalgia for those of us who grew up in a house like this. The peace and beauty of the old DeVeaux neighborhood is a great retreat from the crush of the Falls area, despite being amazingly close. Carroll and Andre have everything perfectly arranged for a smooth stay, but are still highly responsive if you need something more.

Girlfriends’ Niagara Falls Trip

Had a beautiful time seeing the Falls, Whirlpool Park, and Old Fort Niagara with my family and friends! We had lunch at Main Street Diner in Youngstown, NY and then had the best chocolate chip cookie ever at a quaint bakery in Youngstown, NY! Carroll spent most of her career in Human Resources but gave it all up (darn) to open a hostel in Niagara Falls- leaving the wonderful California weather behind but gaining a wonderful husband. Andre is from Germany and we found each other here! We have since expanded from the hostel and added a couple vacation rentals to our endeavors. We think they are a great alternative to a sterile hotel - more like home away from home.

Why they chose this property

The Whirlpool Cottage is in the nicest area of Niagara Falls where visitors can feel relaxed and secure in their home away from home.

We are fully permitted and certified by the City of Niagara Falls that we meet all building and fire codes required to operate a vacation rental. Many listings in Niagara Falls are not legal, so be careful. Keep your family safe and be sure to book with those operators that can show you their permit and certificate of occupancy.
