NOTE: ENHANCED CLEANING PROTOCOLS Since April 2020 our cleaning staff has been using an enhanced cleaning process: we use a 2-step approach in cleaning our vacation rentals. We CLEAN using a detergent and hot water for visibly dirty surfaces, followed by DISINFECTION (using Microban, Lysol spray, Chlorox bleach solution, Ozium).
"High Touch" surfaces - We clean and disinfect high touch surfaces after each stay. These areas include tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, handrails, light switches, TV remotes, wardrobe and cabinet handles, desks, toilets, sinks, bedside tables, kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
"Low Touch" areas (such as floors, walls, blinds) - These are being cleaned using hot water and detergent. We mop from one end of the premises to the other.
"Soft surfaces" (such as carpeted floors, rugs) - We remove visible dirt and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces.
Towels, linens, bedding are laundered on the hottest setting - We also use a Lysol Sanitizing Laundry additive to sanitize all linens and towels.
We provide each vacation rental with a supply of hand sanitizer, antibacterial soap, and face masks for use in public places.
We ask that guests remove their shoes at the door

We had a great stay at this property. The owner was responsive to our questions and it worked out just right. We had some issues with the slowness of the internet, but everything else was good.
We stay in VRBO houses about 8X per year so I am writing this with some comparisons. The home owner was very helpful and communicative. The Property is in a beautiful, safe neighborhood. We enjoyed this spacious home and the outdoor deck after long days of kayaking / hiking and fishing. I would recommend this property HIGHLY. It is very clean; well appointed (including laundry facilities). The beds were comfortable. Two full bathrooms was a bonus. LOVED the Purdue House! Thank you for sharing it with our family!
We were 2 couples on a fishing trip as well as visiting local Soldatna friends. This house was perfect for us. It is in a beautiiful private setting. We cook meals and the kitchen was very well stocked in terms of pots/pans, cooking utensils and dishes. There was a clean functioning grill outside. Bathrooms were well stocked and towels and linens were very nice. The house was spotless. There are lots of games and playing cards. Washer and dryer are available for use and both were clean and new. There is a nice living and dining area as well as a large deck. We didn't realize that the unit requires climbing 1 flight of stairs - sure we just missed this in the listing. Recommend bringing sleep masks given the prolonged daylight hours in certain times of year.We experienced a problem with the TV and sound system and called Elizabeth. She was immediately responsive and very helpful. Highly recommend this property and would definitely rent it again.
We were quite impressed!! We appreciated the nice selection of pots and pans, the overall cleanliness, and the quality toilet tissue, (yes it’s those little things that count). We did struggle with “all the remotes” but we weren’t there just to watch TV. The chunky dishes were difficult to arrange in the dishwasher. Perhaps some more normal size glassware for milk, orange juice and water. We also appreciated the convenient washer and dryer. Could have made use of a flyswatter but couldn’t find one. Sister in law wished they had more counter/shelf space in master bath. The frosting on the cake was our own mama moose and calf!!
The house is well maintained at the end of the road which made it very quiet.
Elizabeth has everything you need and does a great job with communication. If I come back to Soldotna again I will certainly stay here.
Seeing mama and baby moose in the neighborhood was a bonus.
My family stayed in the upper level rental. It was very spacious, lots of natural light. The outside deck was a great added space. Everything you could need was available. The area was very quiet and peaceful. It was unusually warm for this part of year I would suggest having a fan for nighttime because there aren’t ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Otherwise we had a wonderful time.
The location was remote and quiet surrounded by woods, push button code entry makes it so easy to enter. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need, no Keurig coffee maker but pot coffee maker which the owner has filters and starter coffee waiting for you. Hair dryer, disposable toothbrushes, shampoo and condition supplied. Beds were very comfortable.
Updating the carpet in this house would really help the look, owner wants you to take off your shoes while in the house.
Overall great experience!
The house was clean quiet and comfortable. Modern amenities, couldn’t ask for anything more. Landlord was very nice and easy to work with. Next time I need a place to stay in that area I will be staying there!
The accommodations were first rate. Modern appliances, plenty of room for 2 couples and EXTREMELY well maintained.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to our closest friends. We intend to rebook for next year.
We had a wonderful stay at Elizabeths place. It was the perfect Alaskan setting, with woods all around in a quiet neighborhood. The unit was clean and thoughtfully decorated Alaskan style.. with every thing available that you could need. Her little notes on how to work appliances etc were very helpful. Easy communication, easy check in and all together a lovely stay! I hope we can come back next time!
The home was clean and bright, and had quality furnishings. Quiet residential neighborhood. The location was perfect as the home was close to town but felt like we were in the woods. I am planning to return next year.
This was a great "home base" for me and my son on our fishing adventures. Very clean and comfortable. The host was amazingly accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again.
Great house! Super clean and Elizabeth is fantastic to deal with.

Comfortable and private and quiet
Elizabeth was so very easy to communicate with her rental property was the most pleasant of our AK vacation. The bed was perfect and the kitchen delightful to prepare meals. Newer appliances and abundant lighting. We made good use of her washer and dryer (after a week on the road, the timing was perfect. I even took my evening wine & morning coffee out on the upper level deck. I strongly recommend both Elizabeth and her Purdue House.

Hello! I am a retired wildlife professional who enjoys travelling and spending time hiking, bird watching, and fishing on the Kenai Peninsula. I have lived in this area since 1988 and will help answer any questions you may have on things to do and places to visit while here.
Why they chose this property
I purchased this custom home because of the cathedral ceilings, the attention to details, and the home's internal architecture; its very light and bright!!
The home is very close to the Kenai River and downtown Soldotna but feels secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac. Moose walk through the yard and eagles soar overhead!
What makes this property unique
Quietude, seclusion, and only 5 minutes from the Kenai River!!
