Stayed over thanksgiving with part of our family. The rest of the family stayed in another condo. This is our second time staying here. We like the condo a lot. Amazing views, lots of deer passing through the yard. The road gets a little scary in the winter at night, with fog and sleet one night. Nice condo!
The condo had a lovely view but there were several issues, including no
updated HVAC with air conditioning, some new small appliances, more Direct TV stations and fixing the lock on the screen door downstairs. There were great updates to the TVs but it was a hot weekend and no real air ventilation besides ceiling fans that were just not enough.

Dave, we're happy to hear you enjoyed this condo's view! Evolve takes the accuracy of our listings seriously - it's one of our 4 Core Property Standards. We checked the listing to ensure its accuracy and can confirm that the listing does not state that this condo has air conditioning, but we apologize if that caught you off guard. This condo is also equipped with standard appliances and a starter amount of kitchen essentials. The issue with the screen door has not been brought to the owner's attention in the past, so they plan to look into this to ensure that this issue does not recur for future guests. As is evidenced by the many great reviews, this owner is accustomed to providing five-star experiences, and we feel confident that future guests will be delighted. We wish you all the best in your future travels. Best, the Evolve Team
We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was perfect for the 5 of us since we brought our fur baby with us on this trip. For the most part it was very clean and the kitchen had basically all that I needed for making our meals there. The only thing I would have wished for was a Keurig. In addition, I felt that the en-suite bathroom could use a bit more attention from the housekeeper since there was dirt/dust around the bathtub. It also could use a good vacuum job right before our stay there; the bathrooms and bedrooms had dead bugs in there probably due to time lapse between renters.
Great condo ... wonderful location ...the road driving into the condo was just spectacular with the
Can't wait to stay again at this condo ... very spacious with everything one needs ... check in and check out was very smooth and easy ... directions into the condo on the beautiful long and winding roads were fabulous
Lovely condo with a great view of Grandfather Mountain. Owners were beyond accommodating and always easy to reach. The location is spectacular at about 4300 feet and it was the perfect respite from the heat on the coast where we live. We stayed for three weeks and hated to leave.

Great Rental!
We enjoyed our stay in this condo! Everything was spotless and just like the description. We were a party of six adults and one child and there was plenty of room for everyone. It is convenient to Banner Elk, Boone and Blowing Rock.
The property was clean and the property manager answered us promptly. This would be a great place to stay if you were going skiing but it was a little more rustic than it looks like in the pictures. The complex is very dated but the property owners have updated the inside of the condo. The condo was clean and comfortable. It is just a little bit more dated than it looks in the pictures. I felt the price was fair for what we got.
Super clean, well stocked, easy to access, the most amazing view, tastefully decorated, comfortable, every appliance and feature worked perfectly, fully eequipped. have stayed and worked in 5 star resorts that are nothing compared to this accommodations. Thank you!!! When were back in the area, we will make sure to book again.
We enjoyed our stay and the view. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to prepare family meals at the condo. The condo could have been a bit cleaner (initial Smokey smell, smears on the walls, fabrics a bit damp due to humidity).
After getting stuck in Durham/Chapel Hill traffic, we made it to Sugar Mountain after dark, so our first glimpse of the condo was very welcome after a nerve-wracking drive up the mountain in the dark. But the next morning, as the sun came up, we saw how beautiful the landscape was and the condo itself was more that satisfactory. It was very homey, big enough for our family of 5, with plenty of seating areas, blankets, and beds. Very well decorated, very impressive layout and comfortable furniture.
Plenty of room and outdoor areas. Easy to get to and overall quite a relaxing stay.

Overall nice place. A few minor issues, but nothing that should prevent you from renting
Place is nice, if a little out of the way. Overall, everything was fine. Place is quiet and comfortable. Generally speaking, would recommend this place if you need a place to stay in the area. Apple Maps appears to find it slightly better than Google Maps, but Google will get you pretty close. Fairly easy to figure out from there.
Our issues were:
1) Temperature control was foreign to us. Each room (including bathrooms) has its own thermostat and heater. We arrived around 10:30 pm to a very cold space and had to figure out how to get heat before we could go to bed. We over-corrected, so it was very hot by morning.
2) The cable in the living room had issues (we were barely in the space, so not a huge problem) where it was cutting off or resetting itself between every 30 seconds to every 30 minutes. Related note: TV/cable remotes were difficult to use. Had to stand up near the TV to get anything to work, which sort of defeats the purpose of the remote.
3) The instructions for arriving/leaving are a bit complex compared to other places we've stayed. Nothing too much, but just a bit more (like turning the water on and off).
The owners were great. They reached out ahead of the stay and alerted us to some minor construction in the unit. It didn't affect us, so we didn't care. We reported the cable issue, and they attempted to get it fixed before we left. Even though the fix didn't take, we appreciated the effort.
We had a great stay and loved how close the condo is to Sugar Mountain. We discovered that the Gas Fireplace is not operational (according to the owner). It would have been nice to know this before spending time trying to figure out the instructions. Also, bring your own coffee make. The one in the kitchen looked like it was never cleaned, so I tried to clean it the best I could but still ended up buying one at the local Walgreens, no big deal. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay with amazing views, perfect location, and the owner is very responsive. I'd recommend all day long.
We're so happy we discovered this gem at Sugar Mountain! Our boy/girl twins wanted a trip for their 11th birthday, and they wanted snow. This was the place! The condo is beautiful, and we were able to go sledding on the property. We also enjoyed walking the snow-covered trails. It was magic! Can't wait to return!
For skiers, there is a hiking path (somewhat steep, but manageable!) from condo to top of green chair lift. This was such a time saver over Christmas break, as traffic was significant. Great place with a great view! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you to the owners who were super responsive.
