This was such a charming apartment! We loved that although it was old, it was also remodeled very tastefully and had modern conveniences like a dishwasher. It also seemed clean and sanitary. The beds were very comfortable and the AC units kept the apartment very cool. Our family of 7 fit well, but we did have to put 3 girls in the king bed. It was a little noisy on the street on a Friday night, but the “white noise” from the AC drowned it out for the most part. We felt safe and it is in walking distance to most attractions if you’re ok with walking a little ways. I would definitely stay here again!
This was a perfect base location as we toured the historic area of Philadelphia. We had no problems doing the 15-20 minute walk to and from the historic area for a couple days. Host was responsive and prompt throughout our stay. Always received an answer to a question and host never gave the impression my questions were bothersome.Property had what we needed - bathroom, shower, ability to cook warm meals, dishwasher, and comfortable beds. We were even able to do laundry.A previous review mentioned some noise during the night. We experienced some noise as well (e.g. a loud car engine driving by late at night) but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary when living in a downtown area or if we had rented a nearby hotel room. This was a wonderful stay with an accommodating and responsive host. I would happily utilize the property again for a future stay in the area.
The place was clean, spacious, and in a perfect location. The artistic interior design was honestly incredible. The host communicated clearly and promptly — would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the area.

While our family stay was overall OK and the apartment was clean, the building is not exactly well kempt. Our sleep wasn’t that good on our first night — a really heated argument broke out in the middle of the night, below in the bar. And whilst the apartment’s decor is truly unique, it was also pretty tight for a family of five. Perhaps more pictures depicting the space could give a better idea to future guests.
We enjoyed our one-night stay here. It was very clean and comfortable. The pillows on the beds were plush. The sheets were soft. The towels were fluffy. The kitchen has the basics for eating simple meals. We were very comfortable, and our needs were met. The only downside for us was that it's in a noisy neighborhood. But that's to be expected because it's in central Philly. Just be aware that you can hear a lot of traffic, garbage trucks, and people coming out of the bar below late at night. Wear some earplugs, and you'll be fine. Great place to stay with lots of restaurants within walking distance. We parked in a nearby lot overnight and paid about 40 for that.
The location was excellent. We felt safe walking around and could easily get to different areas of downtown on foot. The apartment is quaint and cute, and you can tell the owner put real thought into maximizing the space.A few things worth noting for future guests: The listing title says four beds and the description mentions five, but in reality there are three beds and a pullout couch. There's one actual bedroom with a king bed on the bottom and a queen on top (accessed by a ladder with rungs, not flat ladder steps, so keep that in mind if agility is a concern). In the living room there's a Murphy bed (queen) and a pullout sofa. Just something to be aware of if you're counting on 4-5 actual beds. For our group of three it was perfect, but I'd say four people is the realistic max for comfort. It's a 1-bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment, so with more than that it would feel tight. If you're driving, know that you'll be relying on street parking in the city, which can be tricky depending on the day and time. We had to drive around for a bit each time, but we were typically able to find a spot within about 20 minutes that was only a 10-minute walk from the apartment. Also not an issue for us, but good to know: the apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator, so you'll be carrying your bags up four flights of stairs.Overall we had a great stay and it worked well for what we needed. Would recommend for a small group looking for a safe walkable Center City location.
This space is LOVELY! However, I had to give my review for “cleanliness” 2/3 stars because there was no cleanup from the previous stay prior to my check-in. (I.e. used towels, leftover trash, beds not made, etc.) I definitely do want to give this property another chance as the location, interior, etc. are all gorgeous and the hosts were responsive. I didn’t want to cause any trouble during my stay since it was just me and there were some extra clean towels and one of the beds hadn’t been slept in. I was hardly there. (Also, I know this is located in quite an old building but the water pressure in the shower is quite light—more of a nit-picky thing from me.) I believe this is also a new listing so I’m willing to give some grace to the new hosts, for sure. Their space is beautiful and the next time I’m in Philly I will give this listing another try.
