This cabin is a gem on lake Murray. We felt right at home and loved the rustic feel. The house was clean, the location perfect and the private island so much fun for our kids to explore.
A memorable long weekend at the lake made better by this gem of a cabin - just like the cabins I stayed in as a kid. A well preserved house with plenty of space inside and out. We played in the water, enjoyed the views on the spacious deck, played games at the large table, and made & ate delicious meals. Would definitely stay again!!
Our stay got off to a great start staying and we were looking forward to spending an amazing weekend at this beautiful property.
However, hurricane Helene had other plans and that's where we got to experience the best part of this house: the amazing hosts!
The family did everything to check-in on my family and literally moved heaven and earth to get to the house to make sure we were safe during a very chaotic morning.
I can't express my gratitude enough to the hosts for everything they did to help make sure my family was safe and able to make my wedding day a special one!
Our friends and us had such a relaxing stay at this beautiful lake home. Owner was always on top of any questions we had. The home was very clean and we enjoyed exploring the property. If you want that authentic lake house feel vacation then this is a place you will want to check out.
Thank You for the memorable stay!
Our family had a wonderful week at the pointe home. Spent every evening on the dock watching the sunset. Very relaxing and private. Close to town for groceries and restaurants.
The property is older but very well kept up. The view from inside and outside the house is amazing. Margaret and her brother was very attentive. Check in was effortless. We rent a house on the lake every year. We would definitely return to this location!
A perfect lake home! Not overbearing, everything you need, plenty of trees, and wonderful views. You never know what you are going to get at private property, but this one provides it all, and more. I would have no problem going back.
Great location for the outdoorsy active water lifestyle. Boat ramp was a plus as was the dock and water view. We were able to launch and retrive a 23 foot jetboat with a 25 foot long 108 inch wide dual axle trailer with some maneuvering around the abundant trees and slope to the property. Assess your rig and walk the driveway prior to pulling in. There is trailer parking available . Any setup would be difficult to launch with the configuration of the drive way, but the dock can accommodate no problem if put in else where. Bring extra fenders. Lots of boat traffic in and out of the adjacent cove's new large dry stack marina. Funny because you can't even see it from the property at all but there was a lot of wake traffic due to being holiday weekend and we had to see where they were all going. Would have never known it was there otherwise. Good sailing spot for laser or similar type boat as well. We had a constant prevailing on shore wind which kept the mornings nice and cool for a July 4th week. Lots of shade on the deck in the morning to enjoy the views. House is quaint cabin like and large enough inside to feel comfortable with 5 to 6 people. 2nd private bathroom is on the verry small side but usable. Kitchen is adequate. Abundant views from inside and out with no other adjacent houses visable. AC worked great and would have liked to use the large fireplace but summer was not the season for it. Overall great place to enjoy the outdoor lake living lifestyle and relax!
We had an amazing time ! The property was everything we hoped for. Fishing for my husband, lots of water activities for our girls and top notch a/c for myself. I would absolutely recommend it.
We have been vacationing twice a year for the last 30 years and have never been as relaxed as we were at this property! The property is exactly as described, a true family lake house, not fancy but just with all the nostalgia and more. Our days were spent fishing on the bank, bridge or dock, kayaking or using the numerous floats to cool off in the crystal clear waters. We tied our rental pontoon right to the dock and took trips to explore the islands and watch the purple martins arrive to roost at sunset on Bomb Island. The location can’t be beat for the views and abundance of wildlife . We were lucky to have a doe and her two brand new fawns as regular visitors.
Margaret was incredible to work with, so helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Loved that she encouraged us to take advantage of all the lake toys the home has to offer. In her last message at our departure she said “the lake will miss you” and the feeling is wholeheartedly mutual. We will be back!
Amazing property. The house and surrounding deck is incredible. Sitting under the trees looking at the water was a nightly ritual. Morning swimming, night time fishing, and mid day sun soaking makes this place paradise. Deer visited often and the accessories like kayaks, floats, etc., provide entertainment for days. Our “ young” and “ old” family both loved it. Jet ski and pontoon rentals are just around the corner. Plus, they deliver!!! Publix, Lowe’s, Food Lion, and the Grab And Go are close for necessities. This place is very comfortable and has a happy vibe all the way around! Loved it❤️
Our second time here & we just love it!!! The pier I live most & the wrap around porch!!! Kids love kayaking & we love fishing & just enjoying our stay.
Unique property on a unique Lake Murray lot... Our family loved the amazing lake views from the house, fishing from the bridge, using the available kayaks, and the large wrap-around deck was a great place to eat, play cards and just relax. The home is older, but it's mid-century charm, large stone fireplace and amazing window line made us all feel at home. Thank you for sharing your special property with us.
We booked the house for a fishing trip and it could not have been more perfect. The launch ramp was tight but very manageable with the bass boat and the location on the lake could not have been better. The views from the deck and living room are amazing and Margaret was super responsive with any questions we had. Lake life at its best!
Stayed her with my husband and 3 adult kids. Such a lovely property. About 40 minutes outside of Colombia but worth the drive. Sits at the end of a peninsula. Feels like your own private oasis. They have a porch around 2/3 of the house and has an amazing view of the sunrise as well as sunset ! My kids went out one afternoon in the kayaks and we enjoyed walking around the beautiful private island you can access by a long pier. We were able to take walks in the quiet neighborhood too!
This was a very relaxing vacation, this property has stunning views GREAT PLACE. Very peaceful .. would recommend to anyone looking for seclusion. Will definitely stay again,..Thank you to the owners
Amazing weekend full of peace and time together. Perfect getaway for our family of 5 (16, 14, 10) where we explored the island, kayaked, took a trip into Columbia for the game (GO GATORS!) Plenty of space for us to spread out and so much to do outside. We hope to get back soon!
We enjoyed out time with our grandchildren! Papa taught them to kayack and fish! We loved your home and the perfect place on the pointe!! We live in Hilton Head and love the beach but now we love your beautiful lake too!! We will be back!! Thank you for Margaret for being a great hostess and always replying to our texts so quickly!!
This is the quintessential lakefront stay. If you’re an avid bird watcher, it’s highly recommended as we saw bald eagles, hawks, egrets, herons, and migrations of Purple martins each evening (August only, I think?)
You can tell this is a family home that has been cherished and holds years of, what I imagine, cherished memories.
Thank you Margaret for your family’s hospitality, your responsiveness, and the perfect ambience for a family lake stay.
