We had an amazing stay at this lake house. The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. The highlight was definitely the private dock—perfect for morning coffee by the water, fishing, or just relaxing and enjoying the view. The house had everything we needed, and the peaceful setting made it a great place to unwind.Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet lakeside escape. We would absolutely stay here again!
We had a great relaxing time. The location was quiet and we had fun fishing too. The boys enjoyed playing games and just being kids. A great place to unwind.
We had a wonderful family vacation at the Overlook. The property and grounds were exactly as advertised and we had everything we needed to relax in and out of the lake! A nice, quiet part of the lake as well. The owners were extremely responsive and it was wonderful to be able to use the kayaks and SUP’s.
We had a wonderful stay at the overlook at Langford. Lauren was very welcoming and answered all questions before our visit. She checked in during our visit to ensure we didn’t need anything. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The view of the lake was amazing and we enjoyed watching some folks fishing during our visit. I can imagine a visit in the summer would be full of lake activities. Cooking was a dream in the kitchen with a huge beautiful island and the lake view. The bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. The location was in close proximity to grocery shopping and restaurants. We had a wonderful weekend and hope to visit again soon to do more exploring of the local area.
Property was exactly like the pictures, no unexpected surprises. Everything was great. Very comfortable and nicely decorated. All the amenities you need for a great stay. Enjoyed the dock, especially with it being only minutes away from Acapulco boat rental.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and included kayaks, paddle boards, and a lily pad. We wish the weather would have cooperated a little more but we still had a great time! If we decide to stay in the Lake Murray area for next Memorial Day we would love to stay at the house again.
The house and location were great. A amazing view of the lake. There is currently construction going on in the neighborhood so if you’re looking to sleep in, you can forget it.
The house was clean, comfortable and very relaxing! The house had all the essentials for my stay and a great covered dock for reading or just watching the boats on the lake...my Golden Retriever loved that too.

Hey John, we are so glad you enjoyed the place! We hope to see you back soon!
You won’t regret staying here. Our family had the best time here and we loved the house. It was even better than the pictures. Lauren was very helpful and we are very much looking forward to the next time we can rent this house.

Thank you so much! We would love to host you all again! The house really has everything you need, in a great setting, for a wonderful getaway!!
We had the relaxing stay we had hoped for while in town to watch a baseball tournament at the Blowfish stadium. The lake views through the leafless springtime trees were spectacular. The quiet surroundings gave us the opportunity to appreciate the sounds of the winddriven water splashing up against the shorelines as the wind
This place was perfect for my husband and I to relax on our vacation! Beautiful home and property with beautiful views!!It had everything we needed and more! Owners were responsive, too! I’d stay again and refer to friends if the opportunity comes up! Thanks for a great stay!!
This location was exactly what the family needed. It is a beautiful secluded slice of heaven. It was amazing waking up in the morning next to the gorgeous Lake Murray and spending time with our girls on the dock. They loved it and we were out there daily trying to find fish and counting boats. We will remember this location for a long time! Thank you for your amazing hospitality during our stay! We would love to come back!
This place checked all my boxes for our group of 6: Super Clean, beautifully decorated, perfect location and a beautiful view of the lake. As well as the owner was so easy to work with! I could not have asked for anything better!
The house is fantastic
The area more rural so very quiet
Sits on the south side so not much sunshine
Was very very nice! Hosts were amazing! Thanks so much Lauren and Scott!
This large home overlooked beautiful Lake Murray and included a great dock with a covered area. The living area and kitchen were large, open, and very comfortable. The porches with rocking chairs and a hammock were where we spent a lot of our time. The pool table was enjoyed by all the family. The two refrigerators in the garage were a real plus! We would love to return to this lovely home!
The location was great, the house is very clean. I think we went at a bad time of year. The pollen had taken over everything outside. I had to spend the first 2 hours washing the patio and furniture just so it could be used. Once I did that the outside was very nice. The covered area by the dock is also not usable. Caked in pollen and spider webs. Other than those little things we loved the home and our weekend at lake Murray.
Wow!!! Right on the lake - amazing sunsets for your evening views! Stunning place to have fun with a jet ski. This lake house has room for everyone - main floor with nice couches and large kitchen, downstairs with pool table, screened-in porch, area for rocking chairs, outdoor dining areas, and covered area next to the lake. The owner has thought of everything - from life jackets to ROKU to inside games to kitchen needs. Thanks!!! We hope to stay again soon!
We had the perfect weeklong stay here! My husband and I stayed downstairs so my parents could stay on the main floor. The stairs down to the dock are no joke and I’m not sure anyone much older than 70 would be able to tolerate them. The rocky stairs could use some rehab as there’s some wood rot and loose stones, but the wooden ones on the right were more solid. We didn’t have any noticeable neighbors for most of the week and this part of the lake/river was fairly quiet. The house has been beautifully renovated. We used the grill several times during our stay (we left a meat thermometer for the next guests to use). You do have to plan out your grocery shopping as you’re a little further away from civilization, but that’s the point :) We did end up renting a pontoon boat from Lake Murray Boat Rentals while we were there and would highly recommend! They were great to deal with and they had coupons for the Fall season. We also tried Southshore Grill and Martins Landing at the hosts recommendation. You should also stop in the nearby distillery for free tastings of whiskey, moonshine, and vodka! My husband can’t wait to return and hopefully catch more bass next time! We only caught one, but also caught perch, sunfish, and multiple catfish. Hosts were very responsive.
The place was just as it appears online. The young boys enjoyed spending time fishing on the dock. They actually had good luck and caught a few. The kitchen/family room is large and open, and where we spent most of our time when not outside. We took their recommendation and rented a pontoon from Lake Murray Boat Rentals. They delivered it right to the dock. Restaurants via boat were close, and we spent our afternoons tubing. Be sure to pack all your groceries. The closest grocery worth driving to is IGA and that was about 20 minutes away. Everything you need to cook is provided in the kitchen. The grill is in good shape as well. The yard could use a little TLC. The stairs to the dock are warped and falling apart, as well as the dock. The boathouse is fully stocked with water toys, but again it could use a good power washing. Maybe it was just the end of a long busy summer for them? But overall it's a great place for a family to stay. We tried to take in a Lexington Blowfish game, but it was rained out. The stadium was an easy drive from the house if baseball is your thing! We would consider staying here again.
The house was nice, and we all enjoyed the amenities. Master bedroom was large and convenient to living room. The TV in the room needs to be replaced because of color issues. My son and daughter-in-law along with great niece and her friend were downstairs in basement. Nice walk out to lake from basement. Unfortunately, both of the beds in basement were not conformable and resulted in my son and his wife developing back issues causing us to check out after 2 days. Also there were some small items like a loose handle on sliding glass door which my son tightened with a screwdriver. In addition, one of the barstools had loose legs making it very dangerous to use.The dock area was nice however the path down to the area was very steep. One path was rock steps with somce of the rocks loose cause issues for me. I have balance issues and without handrails it was difficult to walk down on the rocks. I came back up via the new wood plank walkway which was much more stable. I would recommend the owners putting up a handrail on the wood plank pathway for safety. We had fun even thorough the trip was cut short. I would recommend that the owners take a little more care of what may appear to be minor issue. Some tender loving care of their property would go a long way to taking this from a 4 star for my family to a 5 star. The host, Lauren, was very helpful and responses to several questions we had during our stay.
