Comfortable cottage getaway near Snæfellsjökull national park

Important notice: The cottage is NOT available for the solar eclipse on August 12. 2026. 93m2 house cottage on two floors. On the ground floor you'll find 2 bedrooms, one with a full sized bed, and the other with 2 single beds. The bathroom is well equipped with a washing machine, a dryer and a large shower. The living room is spacious, with a TV, DVD-player and dining table for 6 people. There is a modern kitchen with a built-in dishwasher. There is a large terrace that covers 3 sides of the house. On the upper floor you will find a sleeping loft with a queen size bed. The loft also has a wide variety of children toys.

There is a fire blanket located on the wall in the kitchen, there is also a first aid box located in the cabinet in the lobby.

This is a beautiful, private cottage in a lovely setting. The sea is on one side and glaciers on another. It is just outside a small town with multiple restaurants and very near the national park.

Lovely cottage in an incredible location.

The cottage was lovely and spacious. Communication was great including a nice guide to the area. The views were absolutely spectacular. Wish we could have stayed longer. If we ever make it back to Iceland we’ll definitely try to stay again.

Olafur’s place was very nice. It was private from other houses, quite spacious and had most everything we needed. The view was amazing. The host gave wonderful directions and made us feel welcome. Very close to the coast great place to walk in the evening.

A Perfect Stay!

Our family of 6 had a perfect stay in Arnarstapi. Plenty of space for our large family, excellent kitchen, and close to so many sites in the Snaefellsnes peninsula. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed for our stay! We hope to visit again, soon! Thank you for your hospitality.

Warm views of Snaefells

The peninsula was windy and snowy, but the house was warm, and our 7 and 5 year old enjoyed the playroom after a day or exploring.
