About this property

Charming 1936 Vintage House: An LA Oasis w/ private heated pool and grass yard.

This one story Ranch style house on a corner double lot was built in 1936, and is full of Vintage charm! It also has some Hollywood history. The original owners were Movie Stars in the 1930's: Dick Powell and Joan Blondell. This was their weekend home in the "Country" back then,, and was a true Ranch with horse stables and a chicken coup. The home has only had 4 owners. We have loved living here over 33 years!

Our House consists of a large living room with a wood burning fireplace and vaulted ceilings, plus a cozy office/den. We also have a formal dining room next to the newer fully stocked kitchen. We two bedrooms. Our primary bedroom has a large flat screen TV, Queen bed and fireplace. The attached bathroom has a large whirlpool tub. There is also a full bath in the hallway next to the second bedroom and a half bath next to the kitchen. The house is 90 years old and has original hardwood floors plus other vintage details such as French doors, and built-ins.

There are two outdoor spaces to enjoy: Off the dining room is a bricked in veranda with outdoor dining table overlooking a lawn and lush landscaping. Off the living room is a private heated pool with lounge chairs, grill and outdoor dining tabe that seats 6 people.

You have the option to heat the pool for a reasonable fee.

There is a fence between the house and pool for families with small children.

We will be staying in the secluded Guesthouse in the back of the property behind a fence, but you will have lots of privacy in the main house and outdoor spaces! We are available in person or through text to answer questions or make suggestions while visiting our hometown of LA.

We live in a quiet residential neighborhood, and there is plenty of unrestricted parking in front of the house or on the side of the property.

We were both born and raised in Los Angeles, but we have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world, and we look forward to hosting travelers from near and far.

We met working at Universal Studios Tour may years ago, and we still live only a few minutes away from one of the most popular tourist attractions in Los Angeles.

Laura knows a lot about homes as a director for many shows on HGTV (Home and Garden Television) - She is currently working on the network's #1 show "House Hunters" and travels all over the country on a regular basis.

Michael also used to work in Television production, and he is now devoting his time and attention to being an excellent host.

Our favorite American city besides Los Angeles is Chicago, IL and our favorite vacation destination is Hawaii. Michael's heritage is Italian, and Italy is our very favorite country to visit!

Our daughter was born and raised in this house so it holds many sentimental memories!

Because we will be living in the Guesthouse at the back of the property, we can make ourselves available 24/7 if you need us for any reason. We also respect the privacy of our guests, and the property is large enough that we can live very separately.
