About the host

Host profile image
I am a retired physician and my wife used to work as a Registered Nurse. We are traveling frequently but mainly, to France for language immersion for reasons of preparing to do volunteer medical work in francophone areas of Africa.

Why they chose this property

We have lived here since 2002. We were both born and raised in Iowa but neither of us is originally from Pella. We chose this neighborhood for reasons of safety, cleanliness, and great private and public schools.

What makes this property unique

Our property is just 6 miles from Pella and not at all too far from highway 163. We built the house in 2003 but used an building plan from the "Old House Journal," and so it was built to look like an older house, ie, a Victorian Home.
