Couple's Getaway

We enjoyed our stay-very private and yet close enough to Bryson City to enjoy the train ride; scenic views of the beautiful mountains; and delicious food. A great place to stay in Bryson City!

We are so happy we stayed at this property.

We are so happy we stayed at this property. It was convenient to many places and we had a nice view of the surrounding mountains. We enjoyed visiting places off: the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Smokys, we enjoyed the Deep Creek area of the Smoky's and we enjoyed a Train Ride.

Superb

This is the second time we've stayed at Buffalo Creek. The first time was at the Bridge Cottage and it was perfect. This time we stayed at the Guest Cottage, and experienced the same lovely stay and superb hospitality. We look forward to our next stay.

Beautiful Retreat

This is a return visit for my friend and I to this cabin and we love it! It is everything plus more than shown in the description--beautiful and tasteful furnishings; well stocked with everything needed; clean and inviting--the perfect setting and ambiance for a tranquil and relaxing getaway. We'll definitely be returning!

Fantastic!!! The photos on the web do not give it justice. The nearest thing to heaven you will find on earth. Great for a couple, Quiet, secluded but still close to town. Great host. Highly recommed.

Get-A-way

Very private. The view was AMAZING! The entire reason for choosing this cabin and it was well worth it. Very clean and had everything you may need. If you lacked anything the small town of Bryson was right down the road and very welcoming. We appreciate the hospitality. See ya next time.

Fun Getaway in the Smokies

We very much enjoyed this stay. Cabin is off the beaten path, cute, with magnificent views; we were comfortable and had everything we needed. There is a grocery store one mile away where we grabbed a few things for breakfast, snacks and a few simple meals. There are also restaurants in Bryson and Cherokee where there is a range of dining options. We found a nice brew pub in Bryson where we enjoyed a meal, craft beer and live music after a day of hiking. We hiked the Deep Creek trails (Mostly Easy) and the Smokemont Loop Trail (Strenuous). Elk viewing at the Oconaluftee visitor center is also a fun experience. There are many outdoor activity opportunities in the area so you can choose what you like and customize your experience.

Beautiful Mountain Stay!

This cabin in Bryson City was just as described and pictured! Very very clean inside, and made us feel right at home. The mountain sunsets were beautiful from the back deck. One of the neighbors must have a cat, he came and hangout with us on the deck but he was very friendly and made us feel right at home with our cat! The Ingles grocery store was very close and convenient. The drive up the driveway to the cabin is quite steep with a few turns, as expected being in the mountains but next time I will take our truck Vs our Mini Cooper because that car did not like the slow speed incline very much. Other than that I highly recommend this location to anyone! We will definitely be back!

pictures of the outside are a bit deceiving.

The cabin inside was very clean. Many light bulbs burned out including one above the stove and one in kitchen area. Shade needs replaced in living room as well as bathroom. No soap was left for shower and very little shampoo in the dispenser. Spice selection was very limited. No pepper at all and salt was the only available common spice. Grill knobs did not work and a burner was out. Landscape needs some work. Very dirty patio area including window areas. Trees need trimming especially along driveway to see the mountains. Weeds growing in planter pots. Many tubs of flower pots thrown in a pile in side yard. Most frustrating was the traffic in and out of the driveway all days and construction work in basement of cabin with compressor and nail gun. Somewhat frustrating and unable to relax. No information was provided about the pointe access.

Horrible!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!

This place is a joke! The pictures are not accurate at all! These pictures look like they were taken 5-10 years ago! The instructions for check in are the keys are on the table and the door is unlocked. When me and my wife get there there is no keys and the guest contact will not answer or return any calls or text. I contacted him several times before finally saying screw it and leaving and got a hotel. Me and my wife did not feel comfortable knowing someone had keys that could have came in during the middle of the night if we locked the doors! Also the place was covered in dust and didn’t smell like it had been cleaned in a long time. The bed linings looked like they came from the goodwill and the bed looked like the floor was more comfortable! The microwave was broken and had a screen door handle screwed to the front of it! And also this is not a cottage it’s a one bed room apartment over someone’s garage… DO NOT STAY HERE! Also the guest contact has yet to respond on giving me any of my money back!

Mountain cabin get away.

The cabin was as described. It noted that you must be able to climb steep stairs to access the cabin. This is true. We are in our seventies and we were ok but I can see how some people might have difficulty. It was a beautiful cabin, private with very nice views. Very comfortable.

Nice with one reservation

The cabin is exactly as advertised. Close to the mountain, great views, clean, working appliances... However, travelers should know that there is a portrait of Robert E. Lee in the main room of the cabin.

Beautiful View

This is our fifth return to this beautiful retreat and no doubt we’ll be there again. The cabin is fully stocked with everything needed to cook in or grill outside on the deck. Should a grocery trip be needed Ingles, a large well-stocked store is a mile (+/-) away at the foot of the mountain. Cabin is well -appointed, clean with easy check in. The views are a highlight. We look forward to our next visit to this beautiful property.

Getaway

The whole experience was very nice. The outside porch could use some lighting and be cleaned a bit more. The cabin itself was was nice, just musty smelling. I also, would let people know of the one way road in. And the wifi was not working and not fixed during our stay. But overall, was worth it!

Cute Comfortable Cabin

Enjoyed our stay at the Buffalo Creek Guest Cabin. Excellent location with a great view of the Smoky Mountains. Cabin was clean and quiet. It was advertised there is a charcoal grill; however, when we went to use the grill it looked to be a gas grill that was not functional. We did not use the grill. Kitchen was nice but lacking in a few necessities, such as pot holders and a usable large skillet. Water pressure was excellent. Bathtub drain did not work, and we had to manually keep the lever pushed down to allow water to drain. The shower curtain was too narrow and does not fit across the length of the tub. These are small fixes that can be easily resolved to allow for the next person's stay to be exceptional.

Beautiful cottage in the hills, BUT ...

Spacious cabin with nice views located 5-10 minutes to Bryson City. Unfortunately attention to the inside is lacking. The lighting in the living area was such that you could not comfortably read a book. Half the lights did not work and those that did seemed to have 20 - 40 watt bulbs. Two "sofas" in the living room were very low and soft. They were actually day beds with cushions leaning against a bookcase or a wall, no actual support otherwise. The electric heater did warm the unit, but the thermostat sensor was about 10 degrees below the actual room temperature, thus a setting of 80 made it comfortable. (It snowed while we were there). Lastly, one of the working lights did serve to illuminate a portrait of General R. E. Lee. I would not stay here again unless updates have occurred.
