Would 10/10 recommend staying here, the host was absolutely amazing and the place was beautiful. She even left toys for my kid to play with and a basket of smores stuff, which we definitely enjoyed!

It was a pleasure being your host! I'm so glad you all had a good time!!!
Barbara was more than accommodating for our overnight stay. Home was clean and beds were comfortable. Coffee pods were plentiful as were morning treats. She also had a couple of passes for the local state park. Stayed there after a wedding in Trenton. Road up the mountain from Trenton was winding but has great views.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay after the wedding. It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’m glad the coffee, treats, and park passes added to your experience. That drive up from Trenton certainly does offer some of the best views on the mountain! We’d love to have you back at Pennington Place anytime.
Great area for the kids to play with lots of games and sports equipment included. Loved the fire pit. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Host was great to respond to any questions and also gave extra info about activities in the neighborhood.

About the host
Hosted by Barbara Blevins
Hi! I’m Barbara, your host, and this home is extra special to me — it was my childhood home on Lookout Mountain. I didn’t really choose this place… but I did choose to stay, care for it, and share it with others. My hope is that Pennington Place feels peaceful, safe, and comfortable for every guest who walks through the door. I love hosting families, couples, hikers, and guests traveling with their dogs. I’m big on clear communication, easy check-in, and a truly clean home. If you need anything during your stay (or want trail and local tips), I’m just a message away.
Why they chose this property
What I love most about this area is the quiet and peace — and the natural beauty that comes with it. You’re surrounded by mature hardwood trees, natural rock features, and that “mountain stillness” you can feel the moment you pull in. It’s the kind of place where you hear birds instead of traffic. And even though it feels tucked away, you’re still close to Cloudland Canyon and some of the best hiking around. For me, it’s the perfect mix of “near the adventure” and “far from the noise.”
What makes this property unique
Pennington Place is a cozy 3BR/2BA retreat on a private 1-acre lot, but what really makes it special is the setting and the outdoor living. The mature hardwoods, natural rocks, and peaceful landscape make it feel like your own little pocket of Lookout Mountain. Guests often mention the covered porch with rockers and a swing — it’s the kind of spot that makes you slow down and soak it all in. In spring and summer especially, you may find you don’t want to be inside much at all… the porch, yard, and fresh mountain air are the best part. It’s also a great home base for Cloudland Canyon, making it easy to hike, explore, and then come home to rest.
