About this property

Mountain Hideaway Offering Peace And Quiet, Yet Minutes from Callaway Gardens

The Mountain House is a three level chalet located on one of the highest points of Pine Mountain, midway between the quaint Georgia towns of Warm Springs, home of Roosevelt's Little White House, and Pine Mountain, home of Callaway Gardens Resort. Our Chalet features two bedrooms plus a loft with a queen size bed, one and a half baths, a fully equipped kitchen and a finished lower level with wonderful stone fireplace (firewood provided) and lots of books for all ages and toys and games. Enjoy the high ceilings, open main living area and the wrap around deck with wooded views. The towns of Pine Mountain and Warm Springs are very visitor friendly with Southern hospitality, regional restaurants (we do love our Bar-B-Que!) and specialty shopping and antiquing.

Mountain Get-a-way
Just as it looks in the pictures. Very quaint and private, lots of extras. It was perfect for our 25th anniversary trip. Gorgeous mountain top views. Minutes away from Callaway Gardens where we rode our bikes for 6 miles. Restaurants galore.

Wonderful long weekend
This was a perfect place for us to have a long weekend with our grandkids. They loved the games and toys the hosts provided. The layout worked well. Hosts are amazingly kind people. Will stay again.

Best time
We highly enjoyed our stay. The kids went bonkers with excitement when we first entered the house, especially all the toys in the downstairs room; which was where we spent most of our time watching tv and enjoying the fireplace (when we were there at night). Our days were spent on many of the hiking trails only minutes from the house. Only regret, we didn’t get to all the hiking trails and activities. Guess we’ll have to go back!

Good cabin
Good cabin on clean property. The fireplace was nice. They already had lots of amenities in the house. Shampoo, toothpaste, lots of towels, extra bedding, firewood, even lots of common kitchen and food items. Very convenient.

Relaxing stay
Great place to unplug and relax. Lots of kids games on lower level that my 3 year old enjoyed. Plenty of supplies provided as well and very short drive to Callaway Gardens.

Transplanted Yankees from Ohio, where Joanna and I graduated from Ohio State (Go Bucks!), we moved our Family to Georgia in the early 1980's and never left. We are all Dawgs now, as Michael, before he retired, was an administrator and teacher with Georgia's Technical College System who earned his graduate degree from the University of Georgia. Joanna is a retired research scientist and an avid vegetable gardener. We live nearby in Midland, Georgia near Columbus on the 4 acres that has the large vegetable garden we always wanted.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property after moving to the area and renting another unit in the small neighborhood of A-frames and Chalets. It was within a short commute of work, and when our current chalet was remodeled, we bought it and it was our primary residence for several years. We loved living there full time and love going back frequently just to relax and enjoy the mountain.

What makes this property unique

Our chalet has three levels, an open floor plan with a high ceiling on the main floor and lots of light. It is cozy and has a wonderful deck overlooking the forest. That gives us about the best view in the neighborhood as it looks out into nature. A huge stone fireplace in the lower level is original and available to guests in season and we provide the firewood. We know you will love the peace and quiet, the fresh air, and being close to nature.
