Historic 3-bedroom house on the Fox River in Downtown Algonquin
This River House is a stunning riverfront vacation rental on the serene shores of the Fox River and is located right in the middle of the Historic District of Algonquin. This historic home boasts spacious bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and breath-taking views from the living room, the deck and upstairs bedroom.
The bedrooms are all on the second level and are ready to accommodate up to 6 guests. The bathrooms are fully equipped with lots of fluffy towels and feature a bathtub with a shower on the first and second floor, along with a walk-in shower downstairs.
A large TV is available for streaming, and if you need to work from home, a spacious desk and high speed internet is available.
On the basement level, gather your friends and family for a drink around the bar.
The highlight of this waterfront house is the bird watching experience on our expansive deck where you can relax, while enjoying scenic views and stunning sunsets.
Spot a Bald eagle, or an Osprey fishing right on the river. In the spring see many migrating birds such as finches and Baltimore Orioles…..Hummingbirds and Cormorants are a common sight in the summer along with the Great Blue Heron and Egret. Along with many local birds, you can see waterfowl such as wood ducks and mallards.
The deck is just perfect for having your morning coffee or evening cocktails around the gas fire pit. Stepping down to the backyard, you can find a stone fire pit area surrounded by 6 comfortable chairs with fire wood provided.
If you like to fish, bring your fishing gear and catch small-mouth bass and catfish right from our dock! Bring your kayaks and take a leisurely float down the river. You may bring your bike and take a ride on the prairie trail spanning over 20 miles each way.
On the northern part of the river, there is a Fox 14 Marina which is within a few miles from our home. There, you can rent a pontoon boat to cruise around, enjoy water fun, sunsets and a night sky perfect for stargazing.
We are walking distance from all the local restaurants downtown Algonquin. We are also walking distance from two large playgrounds where children can enjoy swings and slides.
