We had a great stay at the cabin. The cabin was well taken care of and very clean. There were so many extra touches (laundry, coffee/snacks, new dish sponge, extra towels, ice, etc. that really made our trip relaxing and feel like a home away fromhome. Steven, the owner, was friendly and responded quickly to a couple questions we had about stores nearby. We were about an hour from Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone National Forest, and the cabin was a great place to come back to and relax after hiking. We really loved the fire pit and looking out among the trees from the porch.
We visited with our two children for a hiking and biking trip and had an amazing time. The property was exactly as listed and the host was excellent with communication. The property had the necessary amenities to make the trip comfortable and relaxing for the family. There is a great forested area as pictured behind the fire pit that is great for evening fires. Highly reccomend!

About the host

I am from Cincinnati, Ohio I love boating, hiking, offroading, fishing and hunting. Pretty much anything outdoors makes me happy. I love hosting because I get a chance to help people enjoy some of the same things I enjoy so much. Hearing the great experiences that people have gives me great satisfaction, knowing I was able to help them have those experiences.
Why they chose this property
My family and I enjoy the Cardinals Nest so much. We enjoy spending time out on the lake, hunting, hiking and going to the Red River Gorge. It is so peaceful and quiet which makes it very nice and relaxing on our visits away from our busy lives.
What makes this property unique
The Cardinals Nest has a great fireplace area to relax and tell stories on the cold nights. When its too cold it is nice to relax inside and warm up next to the gas fireplace. There is a TV in both bedrooms if you just want to wind down and watch some TV before bed which makes it easy to feel at comfortable and at home.
