We loved our time at D’Sands. It was peaceful, nature was at our doorstep, very comfortable and had fantastic views. Highly recommended as a great place to relax for a few days.
The host was very welcoming and helpful. The chalet had an amazing picture window with a fantastic view. It was very spacious, well equiped and comfortable.
It had a great out look to the granite hills through the big glass window . You could just see the ocean and you could walk down to the beach if you wanted to. We didn’t, it was just too windy. The location was a bit out of the way for us, didn’t realise it was so far off the beaten track, but great if you just wanted to chill and relax. The wallabies were very cute.
Welcomed by friendly and helpful hosts, we enjoyed our stay in the very comfortable 'pod'. The view was spectacular and we loved the wallabies in the yard. A great location for visiting Freycinet too!
We loved the wonderful view we had of the Hazards. Enjoyed our walk on the beach. A lovely peaceful place.
The unit was comfortable and clean. Would recommend staying there.
Great little getaway. Very peaceful. Enjoyed the wildlife, views of the Hazards sunsets and sunrises. Our hosts were knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Lovely beach walks. We would love to have stayed longer and hope to return.
We had a delightful stay at Donna’s place in Dolphin Sands. As naturalists and birdwatchers, the location was perfect. While the Freycinet Peninsula was very crowded, the beaches on this side of the coast were much quieter, with lighter visitation. We enjoyed excellent birding right from the yard and along the waterline, and we really appreciated that Donna clearly cares about the local wildlife, putting out clean water and healthy food for the marsupials and birds. It was also a great jumping-off point for nearby national parks and local attractions. The place was comfortable, well set up, and had everything we needed. Our only regret was not staying three more nights so we could have caught the aurora australis, which must have been spectacular from her place!
What an awesome home away from home. Beautiful walks along the beach in the morning and arvo, days spent reading books in front of the best view of Freycinet NP. Thanks to Donna and Wes for your hospitality. We will be back.
We had a very peaceful stay at d’sands, Donna our host was extremely friendly and helpful. There were quite a few groceries in the pantry already, and a nice clean kitchen. The standout of course is the amazing picture window looking towards Freycinet. Would easily recommend! Thankyou
Thank you. We enjoyed our short stop at D'Sands. Watching the wallabies in the evening through the large glass wall from the lounge was a highlight for the kids. Walking distance to a stunning beach we had all to ourselves. Recommend to arrive with all you need then you can just kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
My sister and I stay 5 nights in this lovely and cosy, quiet spot. The view was magnificent and the place was clean and was well equipped. We went out exploring everyday and came back in the afternoon’s to enjoy a walk on the 9mile beach and watch the wallaby show!Bicheno - 30mins away, Swansea 10 mins and Freycinet is 50mins.We walked to Wineglass Bay, enjoyed Kayaking around Freycinet went to the Blowhole at Bicheno and a day at Maria Island so the distance did not worry us and would book again in the future!!!
Our 2 night stay was really enjoyable at d’Sands. Hosts Donna and Wes were so welcoming and we very much enjoyed our chat together. Magnificent views across to the Hazards from the lounge picture window, everything you could need for a stay was provided and a just a 5 minute walk to the beach. It’s isolated and quiet, so unless you want to do the 20 minute drive into Swansea, take your supplies with you. There are pantry staples provided. You may even see wallabies arrive in the late afternoon for a graze outside the accommodation. Thank you Donna and Wes, it was a great birthday !
Wow!! What an experience!! Well worth the money spentHosts Donna & Wes were lovely and very understanding when we mistakenly stayed an extra dayThe nature of- bush, wallabies and beach close by. We would recommend this place to everyone Bev & Ross
