About this property

Becks Camp - Treasured "Camp" on Pressey Cove

A treasured family cottage overlooking Pressey Cove and Penobscot Bay. If you are thinking about a vacation in Mid-Coast Maine then this property is a great one.Becks Camp is a four bedroom, three bathroom home in the Pressey Village section of Deer Isle, which is a quiet, off the beaten path location. This spacious oceanfront retreat is a classic Maine family summer house – lovingly maintained by a dedicated family – the house feels just right...clean, comfortable, functional and charming.

The home has a very nice kitchen with all the small appliances and cutlery that one would need to create any meal. Off the kitchen is a small family room with some comfortable seating and a sliding glass door that opens to the large wrap around deck.

The master bedroom is also located in this section of the house. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, a closet, a dresser and its own full size bathroom. This section of the home has a heat pump which is good for cooling in the summer and heating in the spring and fall. The second bedroom has a full size bed, a dresser and closet. There is a second full bathroom next to this bedroom.

The home continues into a formal dining and living room area. Soaring cathedral ceilings, a spiral staircase and a glorious sunroom with comfortable furnishings and views of Pressey Cove and beyond to Penobscot Bay are a few of the special features this Great Room has to offer. The cottage enjoys western exposure so the sunsets from this location are beautiful. The sunroom brings you out to the wrap around deck that curls that whole way around the waterside of the property. The spiral stairs lead up to an open loft/office area. The loft extends to two additional bedrooms and a 3/4 Bathroom. The first bedroom has a full bed and great views of the cove below. The second bedroom is equipped with two full beds and also enjoys views of Pressey Cove.

If you are looking for a spacious waterfront cottage in an off the beaten path setting then Becks Cottage may be just the spot for you. Please inquire today for more information about this charming seaside cottage.

Becks Camp does have private systems (well and septic) so the homeowners are most comfortable with no more than six visitors on site during a tenancy. The home does offer a pet friendly environment and a strict no smoking policy. We appreciate all guests respecting these home policies.

The only negative was having to leave and go back home!!!!!!!!! I could stay there forever!!!!!!!

The property is a piece of heaven located in a secluded, quiet cove right on the water. It is so peaceful, the sunsets are amazing and having a screened in porch and a deck is a bonus. The house had everything you could possibly need and it was so clean. Another bonus is a grill and picnic table on the deck right off of the kitchen. It was an easy drive and close to Stonington and several groceries and restaurants. How could anyone not love Beck's Camp??!!

The view can't be beat

It was our 4th year staying at Beck's. We love the view off the back deck and screened in porch. We enjoyed late afternoons and evenings watching the seagulls, ducks, plovers, etc as well as the sunsets after spending time exploring the island. The house is also in a great location. It is only a few minutes from downtown Deer Isle and a short drive to Stonigton. The house is clean an well maintained with plenty of seating inside and out.

It was perfect despite the less than perfect weather!

Becks Camp is situated on a lovely piece of water just outside of Deer Isle Village. It is very private, and yet accessible by car for all one's needs. The house is well furnished, equipped with everything a family might need, including linens, TV/ WiFi, very comfortable beds, lovely showers, a fabulous grill. The kitchen, especially, has every implement, pot or pan a cook could want! The layout is perfect: off the kitchen/living space is a deck with table and chairs overlooking the water (tidal). Yet, on the other side of the house is a screened in porch, perfect for eating in, as well as open decking for hanging out outside. I totally recommend Becks Camp, especially for a family with kids as they can explore the tidal flats at low tide and swim when the tide is in, totally safely.

Great cove views from deck and screened in porch

If you want to experience great views of a cove from outdoor decks and a screened in porch this property is for you. Comfortable sleeping and seating for all members of our family. Our older daughters appreciated having their own area upstairs with their own bathroom (spiral staircase may not be desirable for younger children) so the setup works well for us. We have now vacationed at this property 3 years in a row and plan to return next year (so I was hesitant to write this review as I really feel this property is a gem and want to make sure I am able to book a week again next year). If you are adventurous there is a way to climb down out back during high tide for a swim - of course Sand Beach in Stonington is only a short drive if you prefer sand. We like the location - kind of centrally located for quick access to all our favorite spots in Stonington and Deer Isle but yet off the main road with some privacy and waterfront views.
