A classic, oceanfront farmhouse in Deer Isle. Water`s Edge is cozy, clean and comfortable. This laid back Deer Isle setting is sure to be relaxing and refreshing.Water’s Edge is a classic farm house overlooking the island of Stonington – the home has a unique position at the end of Deer Isle as you pass over to Stonington. Water Edge has a couple hundred feet of shore frontage which makes it great for kayakers or water faring folks.

Water’s Edge is a two bedroom one and a half bath farmhouse with nice views and central island position – making it easy to get to Deer Isle or Stonington villages from this location. The home has a nice first floor with a gallery style kitchen (yes – there is a lobster kettle). The home has a comfortable living room with couch and arm chair and a formal dining room with seating for six. Rounding off the first floor is a half bathroom with a sink and a flush.

The second floor of Water’s Edge has two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The first bedroom has a queen sized bed, a dresser and closet. The second bedroom has two twin bed and a full bed. This room also has a dresser, a closet and nice views of the cove.

Water’s Edge is an affordable oceanfront option in Stonington. Come and unwind in this sweet little cottage by the ocean’s edge.

perfect week at Waters Edge

Waters Edge is beautifully located right on a quiet cove. Our family had a great time enjoying the big back yard and exploring the cove when the tide was out. Mike, the owner, was an excellent host. He was super responsive and even gave us some freshly caught lobster. The house is clean and well-appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals at home. There is also a gas grill and a table for 6 on the deck.

Peaceful house by the water

I've stayed in this house several times over the past few years. Each time has been restful and revitalizing. It is magnetic to set in the recliner and simply look out the slider at the water, ofter with the sun glinting of its surface. Mornings, particularly in the fall, can be spectacular. The house is well equipped and ready. I often cook, usually fresh fish from Coldwater Seafood, just down the road.

Lovely sunrises

We have stayed in this house some other times. Each time it has been meticulously prepared and clean. It is always ready on time. This time all the kitchen appliances had been replaced as had the washer and dryer. These upgrades are all welcome. The house is conveniently located near Stonington, but also not that far from Deer Isle Village. This trip we made particularly good use of Coldwater Seafood for incredibly fresh swordfish, haddock, tuna, scallops and halibut. You'll not have better anywhere. But the highlight of the house is sitting in the recliner and watch the sunrise, or some nights the moonrise. It is strikingly beautiful.

Lovely sunrise

We visited Water's Edge in October '23, just after Indigenous Peoples' Day. The town was quiet with most things closed and restaurants on shortened schedules. Water's Edge itself is very pleasant. Sitting in the nice recliner you can watch the sun com up over the cove right next to the house. Everything in the house is well prepared and set up. The kitchen is well equipped. Bathrooms are convenient and well supplied with towels. There are plenty of blankets and quilts. We have stayed at Water's Edge before; this is our third visit. We recommend it for comfort and convenience. It is but a short drive to downtown Stonington.

Water's Edge was a wonderful place for my family to relax and enjoy the island. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed and more. I highly recommend Waters Edge!

CANCELLATION POLICY
All cancellations must be in writing and received by Agent. Cancellations may only be made between the date that a reservation deposit is received and a date determined to be 45 days prior to the tenants scheduled arrival date. Cancelations within 45 days of arrival will not result in a refund in whole or part of rental monies received. If a cancellation is made prior to 45 days of arrival, the Agent shall, as an accommodation to the Tenant, make an effort to re-rent the property at the published rate for the rental term reserved. No refund of rents paid will be made until the canceled period is re-rented and confirmed. If the canceled period is re-rented, any rent and taxes paid will be refunded less a $100 administrative fee. If the re-rental amount is less than the published rate, any difference in rental rate remains the sole obligation of the tenant. If the unit is not re-rented, all rents paid, processing fees and taxes shall be forfeited as damages. This cancellation policy is strictly followed. Tenants are encouraged to purchase travel insurance for all vacations to cover many situations that may arise that might cause one to cancel vacation plans. There are many independent insurance providers available to tenants.
