About the host

My husband and I are retired and moved back to Massachusetts 4 years ago. We decided to try doing short term rentals to help us financially in our later years and to give our children investment property after we are gone. We do all the upkeep of our little home from the cleanings after guests leave to any and all maintenance of the property. Caring for our home and interacting with guests help keep us busy and gives us something to motivate us to keep active as we age. I am 70 and my husband is 68. It has interestingly enough become a labor of love for us. We really enjoy the pleasure guests get in staying in our little home.
Why they chose this property
We found this home by chance. We live a couple of towns over and really liked the area and neighborhood. It is close to the town center and down the street from the elementary school which has a nice playground for kids to enjoy. Our property abuts conservation land so the backyard is very peaceful and even has a brook running along side of it.
We have also spent time decorating our home to make it appealing to families with young children. Our second bedroom is a delightful space sure to entice any child's imagination.

What makes this property unique
We are 2 miles from the Brimfield Antique Fair which is held one week every May, July and September. It is one of the largest fairs of its kind in the country and is as entertaining to shop as it is to people watch. We are also 10 mintues form old Sturbridge Village a great place to take the kids to learn about history in New England.
