Agree with past reviewers that this house is even cuter in person. And being situated walking distance to a cute state park with trails AND a great, fun winery? Winner winner!
What you see is what you get. Good small little house right next to seven bends park (you can walk to the park from the rental). Great place if you want to fishing for a weekend. They had plenty of cookware: pots pans and baking sheets. The bunk beds may look small but they can fit most adults. If you’re worried about weather and the bridge the host is great about letting you know about flood risk, and can give advice on how to avoid getting stranded.
A wonderful property with all of the amenities we needed to have a lovely girls trip. The pictures were 100% accurate and it was actually cuter in person. Bedding was great, dishes were plentiful, and communication was easy and quick. We loved being able to walk to a nearby winery and the state park with ease. We can't wait to come back.
We had the best weekend here! The house was even better than listed online - so well stocked and clean. The rooms and bathrooms were so large and you could tell there was so much thought that went into it. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning enjoying nature. It’s so tucked away but also very close to anything in the area!
I highly recommend The Wayfarer in Woodstock, VA. The house is excellent for a large group and is pet-friendly. Seth is a fantastic communicator and prompt in responding to any inquiries we had. Location- The Wayfarer is about 500' from the Hollingsworth (south) entrance to Seven Bends State Park and a great "home base" if you are exploring the Shenandoah Valley. A 30-45 minute drive in almost any direction will get you to tons of places; Winchester (north), JMU (south), Luray, Massanutten, West Virginia and many other small towns. Those locations have caverns, wineries, breweries, museums, hiking, and many other activities and all very accessible from The Wayfarer.House- The open floor plan is perfect for everyone to have a central space to hang out, eat, play games or relax. The basement is complete with 2 arcade games and a washroom. All three bedrooms have king size beds, the basement sleeps 4, and there is a neat daybed area halfway up the stairs that we used as a reading nook. The upstairs rooms have independent HVAC units so it is always the perfect temperature. We never used the fire pit, but it is a nice outside area with fire wood provided.Overall, I cannot recommend staying here enough. You'll really enjoy it and the scenery is unbeatable.
