Crystal Mining
Mt. Ida is known for crystal mining. If quartz crystals are your interest there are numerous crystal mines and rock shops in the area. There are a few places we recommend for digging your own crystals: Sweet Serrender or Twin Creek. Our property manager is familiar with what is going on in the surrounding area and can let you know what and where is best.

It was very refreshing to stay in a home that was well equipped. Plenty of kitchen items, towels, etc. Also nice to stay in a home that felt like a home and not a short term rental investment property outfitted with cheap and uncomfortable furniture. The little town of Mt Ida has all the essentials and plenty of cafes and mom & pop restaurants. I loved this stay!
This was our 1st trip to Mt. Ida, we had a great time. The house was great reminded us of my granny's house in southern Mississippi. The pool was great to cool off after a day of digging. 10 out of 10.
It was a real treat to be able to stay in the House of Grace during the eclipse. The geology and remoteness of the home added to the wonder and tranquility of our stay. The home has all the amenities, including laundry, which made our stay that much more pleasant. We cooked each night and enjoyed the spring weather. It was too early in the season I suppose for the pool to be ready, but the garden and fire pit made for a lot to do. The home was comfortable and accommodating. There is much to do in the area, or you can relax and enjoy what Mount Ida has to offer. Thank you,Donna, for allowing us the opportunity.
Such a great location to everything in Mt Ida. We went to the Crystal Mine and if we would have used the cleaning station it would have been nice! This was our halfway point so we left ours in the buckets we brought. Pool was very cloudy but usable for the hot day!
My husband, myself, and our dogs stayed here over 4th of July. Donna went the extra mile to make sure the pool was in good shape for us to enjoy over this hot holiday. The pool was fantastic! I wish we didn't have to leave. The property is very private and surrounded by beautiful woods. Only one house is barely visible off in the distance. The home was clean and well equipped. We made many meals in the kitchen during our stay. The surrounding area has many things to do and the nearby town of Mt. Ida had everything we needed, just minutes away. We hope to return! I wish we could be here every weekend!
The check in process, directions, location, amenities were fabulous and we had a great time! The only issue was that the house wasn’t very clean. Walked through some spiderwebs in the doorways. The floors were dirty. The toilet had such a strong urine smell that you didn’t want to spend much time in the bathroom but the scented wax heater did help.
We really enjoyed our visit and would come back!!
Had a great week! The pool was amazing. Getting there was a little bit of a challenge, but overall it was a great place! Can't wait to come back next year!!
My family and I had a fabulous stay! The house is a perfect location for visiting local crystal mines. There is a wash station outside for rinsing crystals. The pool was great after a hot day of digging. We enjoyed the wildlife every morning under the pear trees. The hostess was quick to respond to questions we had. We will definitely be staying again.
We had a great stay for my daughters 18th birthday trip. We went digging for crystals and then cooled off in the pool and had family meals at the house. We enjoyed the home and Donna was easy to keep in touch with.
"Everything We Want" has become the words I often use to describe this place. Swimming, fishing, jeep trails, pet friendly, relaxing, and food! What more does anyone need? My only regret, I didn't take my daughter to ride horses.
We enjoyed the pool and the beautiful property. Donna was quick to respond and very kind. My girls enjoyed seeing fireflies and tons of stars at night. Wi-fi worked great and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. FYI: There are many steps throughout the property. If you have mobility issues this could make it difficult for you to navigate the house and outdoor porch. My favorite part was the reading nook in the master bedroom. The washer and dryer were very convenient and Donna left laundry detergent and dryer sheets for us to use. Bob's Food Store is a 5 minute drive that has a lot of variety and reasonable prices. We enjoyed ice cream at the Dairyette. Thank you, Donna, for your hospitality.
This was our 4th visit to this property. It is perfect for the grand kids as you can't go wrong with a private pool! We will be back.
