Snug cottage tucked away on a working farm property. Welcoming, cute and comfortable. All conveniences on hand: coffee/ tea, cereals, stocked mini-fridge, tissues and USB ports! Delicious dining nearby. We are VRBO owners ourselves and will gladly return.
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. Cozy and charming was an accurate description! We had everything we needed and Laurie and Norm really went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The cottage was very well stocked and they were very welcoming. Since we came during a heat wave, best thing was that the AC worked amazing! I also loved interacting with the goats and the dogs. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we would definitely stay here.

About the host
Hosted by Laurie Marinone
Norman and I bought this historic 300-yr old farm on the south coast of Massachusetts in 2010. After a painstaking, 5-year, historically correct restoration, we moved here with our goat herd in 2016.
The farm's classic barnyard has a post and beam center chimney Cape house, an English style bank barn, a blacksmith shop, and 3 smaller outbuildings. We converted the blacksmith shop into a guest cottage for family and friends and Airbnb to share our little slice of heaven with others.
We both work "off-farm" remote part-time jobs to pay the bills. Laurie is a freelance writer and Norman is a real estate appraiser.
Why they chose this property
The farm coast of MA/RI is a special place. It blends rural former farming and dairy towns with a stunning seascape. In Westport's case we have miles of stone walls and 2 branches of a beautiful river in addition to beaches and our famous harbor. Plus tons of history and amazing vibrant food scene.
What makes this property unique
You'll stay on a working farm with miniature dairy goats, chickens, and possibly pigs. In season we milk our goats daily and drink the milk and make cheese (chevre), yogurt, kefir, and goat milk soap. In summer, Laurie runs a small dahlia farm and sells bouquets from a roadside stand.
