Really convenient location close to tons of great hikes, as well as activities in Blue Mountain Lake and Tupper Lake. The cabin was super clean with great views of the lake and the mountains from the screened in porch. We would definitely stay here again.
Richard was very friendly and responsive to our questions. The cottage was very clean, the setting is very tranquil and the dock and beach were great. My wife and I especially enjoyed the mornings having breakfast on the screened in porch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
This cottage exceeded our expectation and is a true gem. It is clean and fresh and nicely furnished and qppointed. I loved the dock for swimming and the outdoor shower. The location is a perfect basecamp for many area activites. We have alredy booked our stay for next year.
Clean and functional. No frills so bring your own. Pleasing antique esthetic. The lake is a climb down but this trip was for ADK 90 miler canoe race so we were not there most of the time. Host on premises (we prefer that).
We love the cottage, there's a beautiful view of Long Lake. The beach and dock are good for swimming and fishing is good too. The whole area is very pleasant. Unfortunately, it was very hot for several days while we were there in mid-July, and the cottage is very uncomfortable for about 6 hours a day, due to southern exposure and no AC. When the sun dips behind Owls Head Mountain it cools off at night, but we tried to get away from the cottage until about 8:00 at night.
Although this property is very rustic, it was clean and well maintained. The owner, Richard, was friendly and easily accessible as he lives onsite and was outside taking care of the property. The lake front location was breathtaking. Do remember to take towels (including hand towels and wash cloths) sheets, and other “personal” amenities (I.e. body wash).
We had a great stay on Long Lake. Loved the screened porch and the view over the lake, the cottage is somewhat rustic and very well-aged but very comfortable. Nice hosts, beautiful spot.
Place was everything advertised and more, beautiful location, quiet, comfortable, good fishing right off the dock. Rich was friendly and informative, look forward to returning in the near future!
My girlfriend and I spent last week at this property and found it to be exactly as it was described. It was a cozy "honeymoon suite" overlooking beautiful Long Lake and situated in a perfect location convenient to Buttermilk falls and the center of town. The owners were cordial and happy to answer any questions.I highly recommend this cabin and hope to return in the future.
Rich and Hillarie’s lakeside cabin was the perfect place for my Adirondack escape. The cabin is very cozy and clean, the dock was great for fishing and taking the sun, and the site in general is beautiful. Quick assess to all the hikes and attractions the area has to offer. Highly recommend!
This property was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a get away, quiet vacation. The cottage was perfect size and very comfortable. Dishes, utensils, and cookware were supplied and in excellent condition. Fishing off the dock was superb. The screened in porch over looking Long Lake was most relaxing and comfortable. The weather was perfect, for beginning of Oct. The leaves were so colorful. We want to make this an annual trip!
We have now stayed at Richard and Hillarie's property four or five times, and each time we stay we're just as excited to come back as we were for our first visit. The peaceful Adirondack atmosphere, the perfect location right on the lake, the friendly and welcoming hosts...we couldn't ask for a better experience. We love the Honeymoon Cottage, and can't wait for our stay next year!
A great place to view nature without the bugs of a June rainy season. The screened in porch overlooking the lake was much appreciated as was the responsiveness of our hosts
We loved being right by the lake, with views from the kitchen and the screened-in porch. The host was helpful and friendly. The cottage has everything you could need for a relaxing stay. If you don't already know the area, Long Lake is an authentic not-too-touristy town, within easy reach for visiting the Adirondack Musuem, the Wild Center, Camp Sagamore, and the biking trail between Lake Placid and Lake Saranac. We plan to return. T
Hilary greeted us and was so nice, she even gave us ketchup which we somehow forgot! The cabin has great lake views and everything we needed, Unfortunately we had to cut our trip 2 nights short because of an emergency at home but we did get to go out kayaking once and it was beautiful. Thank you for a short but sweet stay!
