About this property

Tucked-Away Lakefront Cabin with Wood-Fired Sauna

Less than an hour from Minneapolis, the Loondocks is a sun-soaked, pet-friendly hideout on beautiful Big Eagle Lake. Natural stone steps (NOTE: These are uneven, so do not book if you have mobility concerns!) lead down to the bungalow-style house, a stylish bunkhouse, wood-burning sauna, spacious deck with lake views, and flat waterfront yard. Sip coffee and watch the sunrise, lay out a towel at the end of the dock, or share a meal with the whole family! This is the perfect all-season getaway.

With a master king, three queen beds, and three twins, Loondocks guests can bring the whole family! The Loondocks property also includes a beautifully updated bunkhouse, designed with families in mind, and a wood-burning sauna. Equipped with a canoe, paddle boards, Apple TV, a great collection of kitchen supplies, and kid & dog-friendly features, Loondocks has everything you'd ever need.

Beautiful, cozy place to stay. The stairs down are no joke in the winter but the owners made sure they were clear of snow and lit very well. Great view of the lake and cozy fireplace to sit by while the sun goes down. Would love to stay in the summer!

Thank you for the 5-star review! You’re right—the stairs definitely add to the rustic vibe, but they can be a challenge at times. We appreciate you mentioning it and are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Have a wonderful holiday season, and we hope to see you back this summer!
