Big! Good location.

Kitchen, fridge, pantry, dishwasher all good and well stocked. Enjoyed the BBQ. Beds comfy. Lots of room. Needed more hand towels. There was no Kleenex. Window shades are in disarray. A coupl of trash cans hadn't been emptied. Lots of "food debris " on kitchen floor. Could have been cleaner. Overall, is a good house but could use a little more attention.

Big Disappointment/Dingy Home

This was a letter I sent to the on call people and did not get a response after: We actually finally found a box of trash bags that was not in plain sight inside the garage. None of us parked in it to begin with, so it was hard to find it unless you move some stuff. We spent time looking into cabinets, etc. I suggest, that, since instructions on the the check-in and check-out process are pretty more company-friendly, the following suggestions be given due consideration: 1. The location of the trash bags should be stipulated and/or placed under the kitchen sink where most trash originates from. 2. A description of the dumpster location be included since it is a hard to miss right turn for non-Tahoe residents. 3. During summer months, the Tahoe area can be very uncomfortably warm. Please clearly state that there is no AC. We were literally sweating even at night with windows open and ceiling fans on. This avoids an extra layer of disappoinent for guests who prefer a a welcoming cool atmosphere especially from the sweltering heat outdoors. The interior of this home is literally hotter than outside! The absence of an AC can make or break the decision to rent a house. 4. The house was very dark and unwelcoming when we came in and had a peculiar smell on the entryway stairwell, which, by the way has very dirty carpetry. Additionally, the lay out is more like a labyrinth with a wall to welcome guests and walls blocking the views outside...unlike the sunny and airy photos advertised. 5. The cabinets in the kitchen were also not clean and the floor was sticky. 6. For some, there were hairs on the pillows on the bed. We felt grossed-out sleeping on it. 7. There were also used towels in the downstairs dryer which were still damp. We had to run the dryer for you. 8. We are nurses and brought a UV light to make sure surfaces are clean, and they are not really clean enough to match the demands your company are asking for paying renters. Lastly, the on-call help was more interested in talking rather than hearing what I had to say. All in all, it was a very big disappointment .

Great House for Groups

The house is perfect for larger families or groups! We went with several young families and absolutely loved the location and home. It's not too fancy (perfect since we had toddlers running around) and the set up worked perfectly for us - main level with kitchen (on the small side for the number of people that can stay at the house, but we made it work), master bedroom and living. Downstairs has two separate wings - one with the game room, twin room, queen, and shared bath and the other (newer) wing with three queen bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Both sides have a washer & dryer, and there are doors to help keep the temperature consistent and manage noise. We loved being in the Northstar area and having access to the shuttles especially - it's great to not need your car for the weekend and be able to come & go and meet friends at your leisure. The house is nothing fancy but we all really enjoyed it, and we found the property management company to be really helpful when needed. The only annoyance was having to take trash to the dumpster 1.5 miles away (and bring back the key card) at the end of our stay. And I recommend bringing some of your own pillows or blankets if you plan to use all of the rooms - we had trouble finding any extra linens.

Family Reunion

Great house and location

Our family reunion of 5 adult couples stayed at this home. Everyone had there own bedroom and bathroom. Most bed were very comfortable . A large table was perfect for seating around.. the kitchen had almost everything you needed. We found we needed more spoons and dish towels. The outside areas were beautiful to sit in the sun or shade on the decks. The location of the house was perfect for hiking, visiting the state parks and all the beauty of Lake Tahoe. The management company was very helpful we like renting through Evolve!

Guys Golf Trip

House was great, plenty of room for all 8 guys. I contacted the property manager about a non-working green shade on the deck access doors (we couldn't raise it) but never heard back. Oh, well, there were other access points.

Northstar the best family get-away.

Our Northstar VRBO was the perfect destination for our family from ages 10-75. Children, teenagers and adults enjoyed the home neighborhood, The Village, recreation area and the gondola ride to the Ritz. The neighborhood was well kept, and interesting to walk through. Close to Truckee, Donner Lake and all Tahoe destinations. Area was green, quiet and yet fun. Our family all enjoyed it.

Great location & property

We really enjoyed staying at this property. We had 3 families so 6 adults and 6 children between ages 2-5. Each family got two bedrooms so there was great separation and lots of bathrooms so everyone felt they had space. All the bedrooms were pretty "equal" so no one felt shafted. The kitchen was very functional and the home was very clean and safe for small children. There are stairs but they are carpeted and easy for little ones to navigate. The table near kitchen expanded so everyone could fit and the second family room (bar area) downstairs was a great bonus space. The shuttle into the village was very easy, you just download the North Star Transportation App and put in your address and it alerts you when shuttle is coming. Only a few things to note that we would have liked to have at the property. Not necessarily a knock on the property, these just would have made the stay even better. In the description we thought there would be a hot tub. Not sure if the description is referring to a communal hot tub at the rec center but we didn't see a hot tub at the property. It could have been covered by snow and if that is the case it would have been great if it would have been uncovered since we were looking forward to using it. In the kitchen there was no dishwasher soap so we had to buy that at store. Not a huge deal, we just would have brought some with or purchased on the way before getting to house. Other recommendations for kitchen would be dish towels (we went through a ton of paper towels), more cutting boards, a larger trash can and thicker trash bags (bags would tear and leak so hard to take out trash). Lastly, the 3 downstairs bedrooms had tubs with shower heads but we couldn't figure out how to get the shower heads to work. Baths were great for the kids but the adults ended up all sharing the one stall shower. The heating was also a bit confusing. There were 4 thermostats but 2 were labeled as non-functioning. The upstairs stayed very warm (too warm) and the downstairs would be cool so not sure if we weren't using them right. All in all, a great house, awesome location, and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable

We came up with our group for street vibes and the house accommodated 12 of us perfectly. Being so close to the north star center was great. The hosts let us check in early and check out late. We will defiantly book for next year.

THe house is in a beautiful location.

The house was perfect for our celebration. We have an annual brother/sister reunion and everyone expressed interest to stay again next year. We especially loved the amount of bathrooms and the details of the house. We could not figure out how to start the fireplace and when we called the management they responded very quickly. We would highly recommend this house.

great home for a large group or separate families

Spacious home - very comfortable and well stocked. Nice customer service. Clean and well maintained. Nice neighborhood simple parking - easy to unload and load cars using the garage access. Great deck and back patio. Beds are very nice. We had a great stay and loved walking to Starbucks in the crisp Tahoe mornings.

The overall with the exception of the two listed complaints is very good.

There were only two things that could have been better. 1. The heating was not ideal unless you are in the second section. The bottom floor was cold the middle just right the top, which is the main gathering section was too hot. We had to open windows and doors to cool the area otherwise we would have freezen out the people in the bottom level. 2. For paying $245.00 for cleaning we were required to do more than I am use to. “The house should be as it was when we got there”. Well a housekeeper cleaned just before we got there and isn’t that why we paid for cleaning. I understand some of the items listed but object to the quit above what does that mean? The garbage requirement I felt was going too far. I have rented many places for vacation and have never had to get in the car go 1 1/2 miles to dump the garbage then return to the house to return the entry Card to the house.

Wonderful deck with furniture, patio had furniture & grill. Two laundry areas. Ceiling fans in all rooms. Close to Northstar Village and rec center. Free shuttle to both.

Clean as can be and the 12 of us fit fine.

Wonderful to be in Northstar for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We were pleased with the house overall and it worked very well for 12 people. The house was very, very clean and fresh. The decor and furniture were a little dated but wasn't a big deal. TV room downstairs was perfect for kids and noisy adults late at night. Every imaginable utensil and tool available. Products in bathrooms (by Lather) were very lovely. Spices and a few other kitchen goodies were abundant. Since we were there for a summer visit, wish there would have been more umbrella tables and chairs on the deck and by the barbeque.

AWESOME place!

For Father's Day I wanted my husband to be able to ride at Northstar. We came with 3 additional families; 8 adults, 5 kids and everyone was so happy with this home. There is plenty of room, everyone felt like they had their own space. The downstairs family room was perfect for the kids while the adults cooked and lounged upstairs. It is indeed 5 minutes from Northstar! We made use of the shuttle to take us to the village where we went swimming and the dad's rode. We hope to come use this home again in the winter!

We loved this home and would highly recommend it and hope to return again!

We were in Tahoe for the Tough Mudder and this was a perfect place for our entire family. This home was spotlessly clean and cozy. There was plenty of space for us and we enjoyed our stay very much.
