About this property

Secluded Family & Dog-Friendly A-frame Cabin on Cul-de-Sac

Escape to our whimsical, Alice in Wonderland-inspired A-frame! Perfect for family vacay or a solo trip, this secluded retreat features two large decks, a cozy brick fireplace, & a sit/stand desk. Enjoy a unique, homey stay in a fun, quirky cabin designed to relax and inspire. Just a 3-min drive or 15-min walk to town, it's the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience. Featuring fragrance free toiletries, non-toxic cookware, and 100% cotton bedding/towels. Almost flat lot, only four steps to front entrance.

KEY FEATURES:

-Kid and Dog-Friendly: A baby/doggy gate and high chair are always available. There is a Pack and Play for an additional cleaning fee. For doggos we have bowls for food and water, a long lead for more freedom on the property, an extra leash, and a travel bowl for hiking. The back deck is fully enclosed.

-Play and Create: Two shelves of books from board books to novels, nature books to poetry. Board games and puzzles, there is also a wood balancing game for littles and a Snap Circuits science game for 8+. Art supplies include colored pencils, a desktop watercolor easel with paint, and a roll of butcher paper if inspiration strikes!

-Dedicated sit-stand desk with treetop views facing north (so no sun in your eyes!)

-Sleeping Arrangements: Comfortably sleeps 4. The listing says "accommodates up to 6" to include a baby co-sleeping or children sharing a bunk. It does not accommodate six adults.

-Living Area: Cozy up to the amazing brick fireplace while enjoying the view through the soaring, 2-story windows.

-Bedrooms: Both feature black-out shades and 100% cotton bedding

-Kitchen: The well-stocked, non-toxic kitchen is ready for your culinary adventures, whether you're making pizza from scratch or brewing your morning coffee with the Keurig, French press, or pour-over. Tea amenities too!

-Two-person hammock allows you to lounge length-wise or width-wise and the base is easily movable if you want more or less sun.

-Our cabin is located just minutes from a great nature trail with lots of "scavenger hunt" type elements (gnomes and mushrooms galore!) Also, the community playground features a wonderful climbing wall along with the usual elements. You can walk to the village in ~15 minutes.

CABIN QUIRKS

-Please note the hot water in the downstairs tub turns the wrong way. The glazing in the tub has seen better days, but we embrace the DIY charm!

PROPERTY ACCESS

You'll have access to the entire cabin with the exception of a few locked supply closets. You are also welcome to use the community clubhouse amenities, which include:

-Seasonal swimming pool and hot tub (open May-October, small daily fee, pay at the Clubhouse reception)

-Tennis courts and a golf course (pay greens fee at pro shop)

-Game/rec room: pool table, ping pong, video games, and a piano

-Exercise classes: lots of activities every day. Some may have fees.

COMMUNICATION

This is our personal mountain home, and we are excited to share it with you. While we won't be present during your stay, we respect your privacy but are always available via the app or phone if you need anything. Our goal is to ensure your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Please read the "BEFORE YOU ARRIVE" document before you leave home as the cell signal is spotty on the drive up and we want to ensure you have any questions answered before you are en route. The only cell carrier with reliable access on the mountain is Verizon. Please prepare accordingly.

OTHER DETAILS

-Bear Awareness: This is bear country. Do not feed wildlife, directly or indirectly. Keep all food and trash inside, lock your car doors, and clean the BBQ after use. Unleashed dogs are the number one cause of bear attacks.

-Our Home: This is our personal home, not an investment property. We have four exterior cameras for security purposes. You will be charged for any broken or missing items. We appreciate you treating our sanctuary with respect.

-Mountain Utilities: You are in a forest! The high-speed internet (400mbs) is fantastic 99% of the time, but power and internet can occasionally go out. This is part of the slow, relaxed pace of mountain life. The clubhouse and town have free WiFi if needed.

-Do Not Unplug: A heater that keeps the pipes from freezing is plugged in at the front of the house. Please do not unplug it for any reason.

-Pine Mountain Club is a small, tight-knit community. It is also an HOA so there are a number of rules in order to maintain the peaceful vibe we all love. Breaking a town ordinance can result in fines. A list of the key ordinances is on the refrigerator but some include no filming, no parties, no loud noises, quiet hours from 10pm - 8am, no open fires, no weapons, pets must be leashed. Thanks for helping to keep our mountain peaceful and safe.

Liability: By booking, you agree to release us of all liability related to any injury or property damage you may incur during your stay.
