I created Karl’s Kamp in honor of my grandpa Karl, who loved spending his days fishing the rivers and streams around Stone Mountain. Some of my favorite memories are of being by his side on the water, learning patience, appreciation for nature, and the joy of a quiet morning with a fishing pole.

Hosting gives me the chance to share a little piece of that peaceful, simple life with others. Whether you’re here for a long weekend of trout fishing, exploring the mountain, or just unwinding in a cozy space, I hope Karl’s Kamp feels like a comfortable home base for your getaway.

I chose this neighborhood because it’s home in the truest sense. I was raised here by my grandparents, and many of the families around us have lived here for generations. It’s a quiet, steady community where people know one another, look out for each other, and take pride in the land and the lifestyle.

Creating Karl’s Kamp here felt natural—this is where my roots are, and it’s the place that shaped so many of my favorite memories. I love being able to share a little piece of that with guests.

What makes it truly special is its connection to the outdoors. My grandpa Karl loved fishing these nearby rivers and the streams around Stone Mountain, and this studio was designed with that same quiet, getaway feeling in mind.

Guests can enjoy a cozy, thoughtfully updated space while being just minutes from some of the best trout fishing, hiking, and mountain scenery in the area. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, nostalgia, and easy access to the natural beauty that makes this part of North Carolina so special.
