About this property

Luxury Property with Pool, Courtyard & Scenic Harbour Views

Haven's Villa — Lance Aux Épines, Grenada
There is a particular kind of morning that only happens in the Caribbean. The air is warm before you are fully awake, the light already gold, and somewhere in the garden below, a bird is announcing the day with more enthusiasm than your alarm clock ever managed. At Haven's Villa, this is not an occasional treat. Its an everyday occurrence.

Set high on a hilltop in the prestigious enclave of Lance Aux Épines, one of Grenada's most coveted addresses, Haven's Villa is a vintage luxury estate that has been loved into something truly exceptional. Gated, private and generously proportioned, it sits within extensive, manicured grounds that feel more like a botanical garden than a holiday rental: sweeping lawns shaded by a magnificent mature saman tree, vibrant bougainvillea tumbling over white walls in shades of deep pink and ivory, productive fruit trees, lush tropical planting, and everywhere the kind of effortless, unhurried beauty that takes decades to cultivate and simply cannot be replicated.

This is a property that rewards slow mornings, long lunches and late evenings. A place where the schedule writes itself, and the only decision that ever really matters is whether you want to spend the afternoon at the pool or the gazebo. Both, as it turns out, is always the right answer.

The Grounds
The grounds at Haven's Villa are extraordinary in their scale and in their character. From the moment the gated entrance closes behind you, the outside world retreats completely.
The manicured lawn stretches across the upper garden, cool and lush, shaded in the morning by the vast, spreading canopy of a mature saman tree. Beneath it, a terracotta planter overflows with tropical greenery. Coconut palms lean lazily against the sky. Red ixora and white flowering shrubs frame the edges of the grass, while the white-rendered walls of the villa gleam in the Caribbean sun at the garden's edge. It is a garden that asks nothing of you except that you enjoy it.

At its heart is the stone courtyard, an expansive, Mediterranean-style terrace paved in beautiful natural flagstone in warm golds, greys and sandy tones. Wrought-iron garden furniture sits beneath the dappled shade of a flowering bauhinia tree, whose delicate pink blossoms dot the canopy throughout the season. This is where the day tends to gather: long lunches that drift into the afternoon, late breakfasts that become conversations that become the entire morning. The courtyard connects the main house and the downstairs apartment, and serves as the social soul of the estate.

The private swimming pool sits nearby, cool, clear and entirely yours. No shared access, no towel reservations, no strangers. Just you, the water, and the sound of the garden around you.
And then there is the gazebo.

Follow the curved stone pathway as it winds up through the upper lawn, past masses of bougainvillea bursting in hot pink and white, and you arrive at the property's signature feature, a vine-draped open-air pavilion perched at the highest point of the estate. Wrought-iron chairs and a table sit at the centre, framed on all sides by the trailing vines above and the Caribbean world below. What lies beyond the gazebo wall stops most guests in their tracks.

An unobstructed, panoramic sweep of the Caribbean Sea stretches before you. Sailing yachts sit at anchor on the bay. The horizon is wide and unbroken. As the sun descends in the late afternoon, it moves directly behind the vine canopy, sending shafts of golden light through the leaves and across the water below, turning the ocean from blue to silver to molten gold. The sky shifts, amber, then rose, then deep crimson, and for a few extraordinary minutes, you are watching one of the finest sunsets in the Caribbean from what may be the finest vantage point on the island. There is nowhere better to be.

After dark, the view does not disappoint. The gazebo becomes a different kind of magic at night, the twinkling lights of the surrounding hillside communities and the glittering bay spread out beneath you like a private constellation. The glow of the marina, the lights reflecting on the water, the deep indigo of a Caribbean night sky overhead. Guests who come for the sunsets tend to stay for this.

The Main House
Inside the main house, the feeling is one of generous, characterful comfort. Terracotta tiles run throughout, warm and cool underfoot in that particular way that only real terracotta manages, and the ceilings are high, the rooms are large, and the air conditioning in every room means that however warm the Grenadian day becomes, your retreat is always cool and restful.

The open-plan living, dining and kitchen space is designed for gathering. Wide glass sliding doors open the living room directly onto the wraparound veranda, dissolving the boundary between inside and out and framing the garden and the hillside view beyond. Comfortable sage-green upholstered seating, warm timber furniture and the ambient light that floods through from the veranda give the living space a relaxed, welcoming quality, somewhere you actually want to spend time, rather than a room you merely pass through.

The kitchen is, quite simply, one of the finest you will find in a private rental property in Grenada. A large central island with an expansive stone worktop anchors the room. Rich, dark hardwood cabinetry, upper and lower units, including glass-fronted display cabinets, provides generous storage on all sides. A professional-grade stainless steel range cooker with a six-burner gas hob and full oven sits alongside a large American-style stainless steel fridge-freezer with water dispenser, a built-in dishwasher, and a countertop microwave. For your morning routine: a drip coffee maker, kettle, juicer and blender. A full complement of cookware, utensils and glassware ensures that whether you are making a quick breakfast before the beach or cooking a proper dinner for everyone, you have everything you need and more.

Three generously sized, fully air-conditioned bedrooms each offer their own sanctuary. Solid hardwood bed frames are dressed with crisp, fresh linen, the terracotta floors are softened by warm rugs, and the striped Roman blinds give each room a timeless, quietly elegant character. Two bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms, one with a bathtub, one with a walk-in wardrobe, and each has been thoughtfully prepared with the kind of small, considerate details that tell you someone genuinely cares about how your stay feels.

The Downstairs Apartment
Perfectly self-contained and finished to the same warm standard as the main house, the one-bedroom downstairs apartment offers its own private world within the estate. A full kitchen with solid wood cabinetry, a comfortable living space with convertible sofa beds for additional guests, a queen-sized bedroom, a private bathroom and its own laundry room make it entirely independent. Ideal for guests travelling as an extended group who want the joy of being together without living entirely on top of one another, or for a couple seeking a private, beautifully appointed retreat of their own at a more accessible rate.

The Location
Lance Aux Épines is Grenada at its most refined, a residential neighbourhood of elegant villas, lush hillsides and quiet lanes, sitting close to the island's finest beaches, restaurants and the yacht-filled marina at Prickly Bay. Grand Anse Beach, Grenada's celebrated two-mile stretch of white sand, is a short drive away. The capital, St. George's, with its colourful harbour, historic fort and Friday fish fry at Gouyave, is easily reached. And yet Haven's Villa feels entirely removed from all of it: elevated, private, and peacefully above the world.

This is Grenada as it should be experienced. Unhurried. Beautiful. Entirely yours.

About the host

Host profile image
Haven's Villa, as the name says exactly what I intended it to be: a haven. Opening it to guests from around the world has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made. I am Grenadian, and like most Grenadians, I have a deep pride in this island, its warmth, its beauty, its people and its pace of life. What I enjoy most about hosting is the idea that guests leave Haven's Villa having experienced Grenada the way I know and love it, not from a hotel room, but from a hilltop home with a real garden, a proper kitchen, a gazebo at sunset, and the kind of space that lets you actually breathe. I want every guest to feel that this is not just a property they booked, it is a place someone genuinely cares about, because it is.

Why they chose this property

Lance Aux Épines chose me, in many ways, but if I were choosing today, I would still choose it without hesitation. It is one of the most beautiful and well-positioned neighbourhoods on the island: quiet, safe, residential and genuinely elegant, yet within minutes of everything Grenada has to offer. Prickly Bay marina is a short walk away, Grand Anse Beach is just down the road, and the capital, St. George's, is close enough to visit easily but far enough to feel like a proper escape. What I love most about Lance Aux Épines, though, is its elevation. From up here, you can see the sea from almost everywhere. The breeze is constant. The views are extraordinary. And in the evenings, when the bay lights up and the sun sets over the ocean, there is genuinely nowhere else on the island I would rather be

What makes this property unique

Honestly? The view from the gazebo. The sun dropping directly through the vine canopy, the ocean turning gold, the sailing yachts at anchor below. It is the kind of view that makes people put their phones down. But beyond the view, what makes Haven's Villa different is its scale and its flexibility. This is a genuine estate, extensive private grounds, a large swimming pool, a flagstone courtyard, a chef's kitchen, and multiple living configurations that work equally well for a romantic couple, a family, or a large group of friends. It is a property with real character, real history and real heart. Guests do not just stay here, they settle in
