It was clean and comfortable. Hosts were great, they let us know they were nearby if we had a need but were not at all intrusive. Location was remote but only took about 30 minutes to get to Fort Leonard Hood. It seems like it would be amazing to be at the river in warm weather. It was cold and snowy so we spent our time indoors. Instructions were clear and concise. Great value!

First the positives: this place was squeaky clean, it was priced well, and it had plenty of beds.Unfortunately, the negatives were strong. I’ve never left a negative review before, but it is hard not to feel like this place was misrepresented. It is not at home on a river. It is a rental double wide located inside a larger campground that was essentially empty while we were there in February it is not a private location at all it was directly across from the camp store and next to a busy road. Unlike most vacation rentals in this area, including a very nice A-frame we stayed at two or three weeks ago. The supplies were very limited. In most rentals, you can find teabags and sugar and some basic condiments or spices and like a variety of shampoos left behind by previous tenants. This place is not like that at all The towels were plentiful. . However, there was nowhere to put shampoo or soap in the shower. There were no shelves, forcing u to put the tiny bar soap on the floor. All that said none of these issues would keep us from going back there in particular. But this place smells. As we walk in the door the kids said “oh it smells like grandma“ and it does. It has a very strong smell, but it’s not old people smell. After some walking around and looking it’s mold you can see the water damage and the rot on the outside of the siding. Even after opening the door doors, the mold smell never goes away, and the kids started to have allergy problems so we had to leave early.
