We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming old country house. The rooms were large they were well appointed. We had a view of the bay from the back yard and the backyard was full of fruit trees fig tree bushes and it was very very large. It was a game room with the pool table and foosball and darts and lots of seating for dinners and get together‘s. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you could ask for nice sized refrigerator. Our host Dory was wonderful she gave us lots of information about the area she brought us some gifts while we were there of local food It was a good location for day trips to Noia, Padrón and Santiago de Compostela. Highly recommend.

Thanks you very much Lynne for your comment!
We are very happy to hear from you.
For us it has been a pleasure to have shared our home and a part of the family history with you.
We wish you the best and hope see you again when you came back to Galicia.
Thanks you!
Dori
Dori was a kind, generous and welcoming host, always keen to make our stay enjoyable. Her house, which has been in her family for generations, has been developed very thoughtfully and is fascinating and beautiful. The large garden is a real benefit, with exposed views and more sheltered areas, which were welcome as it was windy and sunny at times during our stay.
It is about a 15 minute walk to Rianxo Town and maybe ten minutes in the car to the wonderful Tanxil beach. The area around the Arousa River is stunningly beautiful.
There are lots of stairs in the house, and our elderly parents sometimes found accessibility challenging. Our small children adored the house and garden.
We would heartily recommend the house and host to others.

Thank you very much for your comment!
We are glad to know that you have enjoyed our house and our area. It has been a pleasure hosting you at home. A big hug, especially for those two lovely children.

Quiet and relaxing
This is our second visit to the Rias Baixas region of Galicia and Casa dos Ballotes I is a beautiful relaxing house to stay at and explore the surrounding area. The house has been beautifully renovated and is very inviting from the moment you enter. Everything you need to relax and enjoy can be found. The large garden has lovely views of Ria Arousa and sunsets over the Sierra de Barbanza. The narrow roads make for a peaceful and quiet stay, with the town in walking distance. Dori has so much information about the local area, from the beaches and towns and historic sites to the best places to eat. Fresh Galician seafood is on offer everywhere and the mussels Dori gave to us were delicious. The Xourbinas are also a must. We were 4 adults and 3 children and there is so much space to eat, drink, play and relax. I wholly recommend for a quiet base to explore the Rias Baixas from and thank Dori for her wonderful attention.

Wonderfull house!
My husband, children and parents stayed together at Casa dos Ballotes I and it made our trip to Galicia so special. The house is beautifully renovated, very spacious and comfortable, yet it is nestled in the narrow winding streets of a medieval village, Rianxino. This retro experience can't be replicated by any modern house or hotel. We also loved the backyard, with the fruit trees, grape vines, and views of the ocean. The quaint fishing town of Rianxo is so much fun as well. The owners are lovely to deal with. I totally recommend renting this house!
