The Whitefish cottage welcomes you to the heart of the Outaouais. It’s the perfect getaway for families, couples, and friends who love to fish, hike, ski, boat, or simply enjoy outdoor living.
The cottage is freshly painted and features new kitchen appliances so that you can be sure to enjoy one of the best parts of a cottage getaway: the food! Also the bathroom was recently renovated. Great for groups of two to eight people, the kitchen table and sofa offer flexibility by converting from a romantic space for couples to enough seating for the whole family.
Each bedroom is ready to welcome you as a place to enjoy the fresh cottage air while you sleep. Two bedrooms have a queen-sized bed, and the third sleeping area in the mezzanine offers a double and 3 twin beds. The couch does fold into a sleeping space if it’s needed.
Outside, enjoy sunsets and sunrises on the porch, which provides a perfect view of the lake. Walk down the hill to sit on the shared dock, or float out to deeper water further in the lake. Lac Heney is large enough to enjoy all your favourite water sports, including tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, and canoeing, and there is a boat launch as part of the community space. Fishing on the lake includes the opportunity to catch pike, bass, perch, and lake trout.
On the property you will find a kayak and two paddle boards.
Please note that the property is surveillance by camera located outside the cottage. There are a total of 4 camera. 1- Front porch (lower) view front entrance 2- Front porch (upper) view front of cottage 3- West side of the cottage view side and backyard 4- Front yard view front yard. The surveillance equipment are both for the owner and renters protection. Cameras are only reviewed in case of incidents and are automatically deleted within 5 days.

Comfy beds. Wi-Fi was great.
If you’re using Google maps load your destination into your phone before leaving the property… the cell signal is too weak when driving away from the property for the next 20 km or so, for Maps to work well. As a result, it’s easy to take a wrong turn and miss your tee time.
Lovely property, enjoyed the place and the neighborhood. The only thing that bothered me is the upstairs camera was pointing sometimes towards the property and not always to the outside, while the main floor (front door) was pointing to the inside at all times.

Thank you for the review. The cameras are there for the safety of the clientele and of the owner. At no time are the cameras reviewed unless there is an incident. The cameras are all located outside and do not move, they are static. All recordings are erased automatically after the stay.
The property was well appointed and comfortable, and even with a significant howling wind outside overnight, the cabin was cozy. We especially enjoyed the word-burning fireplace, and used the bbq conveniently located on the lower back porch. Lot of room for us two, but the cabin is well set up for groups and families, with 3 separate living/lounging areas - lots of space to spread out. The host gave us lots of good advice about the area, communicating quickly and clearly. Overall an amazing and positive experience- would love to see the property in the summer, we hope to be back!!

I waited on purpose to write this review. I was very frustrated and upset during our visit. We were asked to leave the wood from the owner - We saw the chopped wood under deck which we left alone. We also saw 2 sealed bags of wood we assumed were a pay it forward from the last visitor. We used and replaced the bags of wood again assuming it was a pay it forward by the previous visitors as something nice - however I was contacted by the owner and told I was a thief for using his wood. He had been watching us from the cameras during our stay. We never used the wood under the deck which was clearly chopped and ready for use, we used the 2 bags of wood left on the porch. We were being watched the whole time with the cameras on the deck pointing into the cottage that has no window coverings. VRBO states that the camera is not used while we are there, however the owner contacted me to call me a thief, which I am not! I felt very creeped out that we were being spied on during our stay and will not be recommending this place to anyone.Thank you

I find unfortunate that you have left this review. I contacted you during your stay in regards to firewood. The cameras on the property are listed and are exterior cameras that provide security for me and the guests staying. You never answered my message regarding firewood instead you simply took it even tough I had warn you not to use it because it was my winter firewood. Everything around the property is the owners and not yours! Yes I accused of stealing because thats what you did. Only after I asked you about the firewood did you replace it. You only felt creeped out because you were caught stealing. Moral of the story is dont steal.
