About this property
Fantastic 4-bedroom house with pool and pier near Solomons Island
Spacious waterfront home with three bedrooms and a seasonal above ground swimming pool/fire pit. The home is bright and airy and thoughtfully decorated to make your perfect getaway along the Maryland shore. Enjoy kayaking, pedal boating, fishing, or crabbing off the pier while watching beautiful sunsets.
This house has been our primary home for the last 6 years, so you will find some of our personal items, but we have cleared closet and drawer space for you. We love this area because of the beautiful views and all of the fun places to visit close by. What makes it even better, is being able to share it with you.
The home is in a neighborhood with 2 marinas. The house backs to Town Creek, which leads directly to the Patuxent River. The water in the creek is deep and calm, so it's perfect for kayaking or floating! We are just over the bridge from Solomons island, which has a gorgeous boardwalk and tons of nice restaurants to enjoy. Solomons Island is where the July 4th fireworks are set off. To view the fireworks, you can drive over the bridge to the island and enjoy the show!
The home was originally a beach bungalow with 1 bedroom built in 1929. In 1963 the home was converted to a 2 story home, a breezeway added, and a garage. In 2018 the home was renovated again with new flooring, a custom kitchen with quartzite counters, 2 marble bathrooms, and new windows. You will have 3 bedrooms, and an office/bedroom combo. The 4th bed is located in the office off the main bedroom. It has its own entrance from the hallway, but also attaches to the main bedroom via French doors.
The home has lots of character that i hope you enjoy while you visit! Because it is 100 years old, and we tried to keep as much character as possible, you will see some original character of the home from 1929. So please, understand this is an old home that has some quirkiness about it that anyone who loves old homes should appreciate.
You will be close to lots of shopping locally, with being about 5 minutes from major stores and strip malls. For activities, you can always enjoy hanging out watching TV in the house, go kayaking, swimming, fishing, or enjoy lots of local entertainment. Again, we are super close to Solomons Island, which is gorgeous and also has a fun marine museum with a lighthouse you can visit. We are about 20 minutes from Leonardtown, MD which has lots of small town character, a downtown wharf, and a fun market place called Shepard's Old Field where you can shop for boutique clothing or have a craft beer at the Beer Garden. Leonardtown also has a fun waterfront restaurant called Fritzie's Marina that has great food and atmosphere. We also enjoy Stoney's Clarks Landing restaurant that is a short ride from the house. It has peaceful water views from the beach out back. If you enjoy crabs, we have 2 traps off the pier, or you can tie chicken from a string to catch them. We are conveniently located near several beaches including Myrtle Point and Calvert Cliffs.
The front door is equipped with a coded lock, so you won't have to worry about lost keys.
The guests have access to the whole house, yard, pier, and pool are available to you. We don't allow access to the garage or the apartment above the garage, as our personal items are stored there. The garage apartment has its own entrance and parking spot, and occupied by a full time tenant.
