This is a great spot right on Breton Bay, offering sweeping views of the bay and its opening to the Potomac from its shady porch or from the long dock in front.

The home was recently rebuilt from the ground up and is entirely new -- it offers 3 spacious bedrooms, each with its own full bath, and two additional half baths as well. The kitchen appliances are brand new and ready for great family meals and gourmet chefs as well.

Convenient to nearby St. Mary's City as well as Solomon's Island, but a quiet spot on the end of a rural farm road -- the only noisy distractions here come from the call from nearby ospreys.

Great house, wonderful location

Great house - clean and well-stocked - and a wonderful location. Can't beat the views and large lawn right on the water. Great for kids and familiar to run around and relax.

What a great experience

This house is nice, well-equipped, and in a GREAT location. That porch and its view almost force you to relax, and the breeze makes it comfortable. We hope to return.

Beautiful Breton Bay

Our family stayed here for a June weekend to be close by our home. What a beautiful property! The listing and pictures don’t do it justice and the view is incredible. Lovely 3 bedroom home with lots of privacy. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the layout is perfect. Wil definitely be back!

A great place to make memories right on the water!

My family and I stayed at this location for a long weekend. We woke up to stunning views and ended the days star gazing over the water from the dock. The house is equipped with all the features you would need for a home away from home. The neighborhood is quiet. The dock is the most peaceful thing ever! We saw a bunch of wildlife! The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with and very responsive to my every question and need that arose. Cute town close by!

EXTRAORDIARY !!

There are not enough words in the English language to adequately describe this extraordinary home !! The house itself is beautiful; the view is spectacular !! There is a view from practically every corner of this home. We love the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom. The home is well furnished; you want for nothing !! If we could live here year round, we would !!

Very nice home for our family wedding stay

The house has great space for everyone with comfortable and lovely decor. The house was very clean with everything we needed and easy to find. There is space for everyone and bathrooms for everyone too! We played games both inside and out. We had wonderful family dinner and big breakfasts. My sisters rented another property in Scotland, MD. They said our house was "champagne" and theirs was "beer and shots". There are restaurants and stores nearby. We visited Point Look Out and Calvert Cliffs for long nature walks.

Paradise on the Bay

This home is an absolutely stunning property with gorgeous water views from every angle. It offered such a serene getaway, with owners who paid attention to every detail for the guest experience. It’s located close to amenities like shopping and restaurants, but when you are at the home you have complete privacy. Owners were extremely communicative and the home offers everything a family needs. For those who love the outdoors, not only can you kayak, paddleboard or fish, but the roads were helpful for my marathon training. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, no need to bring any supplies. We highly recommend this home if you are looking for a place to reset.

Beautiful Locations and home

What a relaxing and beautiful location! We ventured back to Leonardtown after leaving the area 10 years ago. This was a beautiful return back! We live by the Atlantic Ocean, and this was like a smaller version of that. Walking through the door and looking out the window at the water was picturesque! From the moment we booked, our experience was incredible. Stressfree communication with the homeowners, a wonderful welcome to the neighborhood, and such a peaceful visit. We will definitely stay here again! And for those in the DC area, if you want a beautiful and stress-free weekend or even week away from the metro area, this home is it!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Shhh... let's keep this a secret as long as we can!

I have truly never stayed in a house more comfortable, relaxing or scenic. I spent two weeks at this amazing house for my 71st birthday, wanting to have a retreat of sorts. I never wanted to leave. My husband joined me for a week, and he felt the same way. The weather doesn't matter, as when you're in the house, you feel as though you're outside. The views are spectacular... the bedrooms all spacious and beautifully furnished. The open floor plan and the fabulous screened-in porch allow plenty of places to get away, if you are with a group. You can do absolutely nothing and be content, or visit charming Leonardtown, just a few short miles away. Solomon's Island is also nearby, offering museums, restaurants and quaint shops. The owners couldn't have been nicer over the phone (they live in San Francisco); and Greg, their groundskeeper, knows the answer to any question you might have about the house or the area. My husband and I already have plans to return; and I also plan on going with a group of girlfriends. The house is too special not to enjoy. But let's not tell too many people about it, so we can still book it when we want it!

Everything we expected!

This property is beautiful and well appointed. The views are exceptional. The long pier and water depth made it perfect for the kids to swim and enjoy the water. We caught enough crabs off of the pier to have a small feast. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The layout of the home is perfect for entertaining or just chillin'. I would highly recommend this place for a getaway and our hosts, Steve and Robyn, were amazing to work with. We will be back.

Idyllic location

Have stayed here twice in the last 12 months; hope to return often. Views are stunning. Wifi excellent (extends well into garden). Very secluded (while we stayed). Interior spotless; kitchen really well stocked. A gem. About 90 mins. from DC area. Found excellent local restaurants.

What a beautiful view of the bay. I hope to come back when I can stay longer and enjoy more activities! Super convenient from DC, lots of amenities nearby, and the house has everything. I was very impressed how sparking clean absolutely everything was! Great screened in porch. Perfect to watch the surroundings while staying weatherproofed. I didn’t want to leave! We loved staying at the Breton Bay Family Getaway. We rent the house with another family and had a blast. It was a great location for our little toddler to run around. We will definitely go back and would recommend it to others.

Perfect spot

What a heavenly location! Right on the water, with large, mostly flat yards in front and back and a nice long dock. Breton Bay itself is fantastic--calm, warm--and the view across the bay and river to Virginia (about 7 miles away!) is to die for. My wife and two kids and I rented it for three weeks and went back and forth in various groupings, sometimes with friends of theirs, from the DC area, which is just a little over 90 minutes away. While we were there, we kayaked and rented paddleboards, and just enjoyed the view and cool air on the lovely screened-in porch. I caught and steamed crabs using a trap at the end of the dock, fished for perch from the dock, and went out on a nice fishing trip with Greg, the caretaker, catching a couple of delicious (and good-sized) catfish. There are grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and a hardware store less than 10 minutes away. We actually rented a few other properties this summer (for shorter periods) in an effort to escape our in-house lockdown, and this was the best by a very wide margin. I would recommend the place wholeheartedly, except that I'd prefer it not get booked completely full next summer before we figure out when we can manage a return trip.

Beautiful vacay on BretonBay

Our family of six, 2 grown children plus SOs and my husband and I, had a glorious stay at this recently-reno’d house on a beautiful — super wide -- waterfront property. The house and waterfront-facing screen porch was a comfortable, well-laid out spot to relax in, ceiling fans spinning everywhere. The new dock with ever-present herons and ospreys was a fave hangout for us and for our water-loving dogs. The water was shallow and very warm during our heatwave stay but still refreshing and of swimmable depth. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, dipping in a lure for catch-and-release fishing, crabbing (caught only three so let them go and ordered a half bushel from Tommy Tippet’s instead), swinging on the swing, dining out on the picnic table. You name it, we enjoyed it! Owners very responsive to queries and property manager Greg was friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!

Beautiful retreat for family

We have stayed here for the last several Thanksgivings since it's a short drive to our family's house. The house is a great place for families (two couples and our kids). It's safe, clean and has a kitchen stocked with every cooking utensil you'll need. It's also a beautiful view. The only piece of information that might be useful to future renters is that the house has no TV. If we were perfect parents we'd just make our kids go screen free for the weekend (and in the summer months that would be easier), but we let them bring their Kindles and watch Netflix using the house's WiFi which worked just fine.

Perfect for families

We had a wonderful stay with our family (three kids) and my sister-in-laws family (one kid). House was beautiful, clean, modern and very homey. The kids loved the bunk room and the swing in the tree. It had everything we needed. The owners even sent us flowers to say welcome to their home!

Wonderful place to relax and just decompress!

We rented this property for a small family gathering and we all had a great time! It is located in a quite tranquil neighborhood, overlooking beautiful scenery of water. This property has a large back yard and a private dock, perfect for picnics or fishing at any time. The house was clean and well stocked (towels and linens are provided!), bright and airy with ceiling fans in all rooms to cool you off during hot sunny weekends. The screened back porch was also just perfect for reading and watching the sunrise and sunset. We'd love to go back!

Relaxing Labor Day Weekend @ Breton Bay

We were a party of 4 adults and a labrador retriever from DC and Philadelphia -- enjoyed a wonderfully lazy and relaxing long weekend. The property was perfect for our interests, with large yard, private water access for kayaking and paddle boarding (local rental company delivered boats to house), dog swimming, and private dock for fishing and crabbing in tidal water. The house is new, comfortable and clean with a well equipped kitchen and beautiful views of Breton Bay. We especially enjoyed the screened porch facing the bay. We also enjoyed spectacular sunsets and night skies. Owners Robyn and Steve were excellent with answers to our questions and helpful info for arrival - - made things straight forward and hassle free. A great find and getaway with easy access from our home bases in DC and southeastern PA.

Loved this beautiful Property

We lived in this beautiful, quiet, peaceful property for three months and loved every minute of it. The property has everything you need to live, both short or long term. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with every utensil required to cook anything you can imagine. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, and are beautifully furnished. Owners are delightful to deal with and are open to negotiate on rates for longer term rentals, so send them an email if you would like to discuss longer term rates, I was delighted that they said yes to a longer term rental. The neighbourhood is delightful the neighbours are lovely and you soon settle in to the neighbourhood as a local. Our cups of coffee at sunrise, or glasses of wine at sunset, sitting on the seat at the end of the pier are unforgettable memories for us. Would live here forever if we could. Thank you Robyn and Steve for providing us with the opportunity to stay in your lovely home for three wonderful months. Charmaine and Steve

Positively delightful rental!

Location! Location! Location! The views from almost every square foot in this beautiful home are spectacular - whether you are cooking in the fully furnished kitchen or enjoying your labors in the dining area (with ample seating); relaxing in the spacious living room; getting a breath of fresh air while possibly reading on the wonderful screened porch; swinging on the tree swing (one of my favorites!) or maybe catching fish off the pier while watching eagles and osprey fly by. Exceptionally comfortable furnishings. I loved the open floor plan, but I also enjoyed several spots when I just needed just a few moments of ‘me time’. Inviting and accommodating home, very kind homeowners and extremely knowledgeable groundskeeper make this Breton Bay rental a wonderful spot!
